Disappointed in the result but worth the entrance fee for the effort. Been a long time since I have seen a Fax side play with so much heart and well done for not getting rattled at Toronto’s grubby tactics.

Shame the attack didn’t click answer don’t know why they kept going at them with the same plays. You could see pretty early that they had done their homework, so we needed something else today and to keep calm. Still, if they learn they will pick up points from other teams.

Effort is there as it has been all season but our skill levels let us down at key times over and over again. We probably won't win a game in these qualifiers but hopefully this year it will be obvious to the coaching staff after the 7 games where the team needs improvement and investment can be made as we are not that far away. We would have got away with todays performance against Toulouse and London at home but we could have played all day and not scored against a good team.

Very unfair criticism about not being able to score if we played all day ………… we nearly did score for heaven's sake!

I don't know what some of you guys expect. Take a look at Toronto's team, full of full time ex SL/NRL we did a fantastic job today. After watching 3 championship matches this weekend, and "guessing" how Hull KR and Salford performed, I guess the final table will look like this:

Salford
Toronto
Leeds
Hull KR
London
Super Fax
Toulouse
Widnes

Oh, and what's this rumour about Scott Grix coming to Fax next season?

Re: Toronto home : Sun Aug 12, 2018 6:35 pm
Thought Toronto won the ruck area and we just fired blanks in the Toronto 22m red zone. That link between Johno Grix and Muzza was weakened by not having Grix at pivot in the middle of the field today. To put in context that narrow margin defeat may still be a positive down the line as I expect Toronto to beat teams by a larger score in due course and if we can play to that intensity and upskill on attack then we may have some more money to come by finishing higher that the pundits have us down for. Keep the faith.
PS yes Scott Grix will be back next season-to draw another golden gamble ticket at half time

I felt quite flat after the match. I the ref was very one sided but we looked very clueless when near their line. We stood in a bunch. Didn’t push up and and had no one dorecting play and it was slow. Had the attack been better I feel we could have won that game.

I thought the ref was fine and it was a fair result.
We missed Grix, Tangata and Fleming, i think we could have won with them, but alas, it wasn’t to be.
Top effort from the lads though, did themselves proud and should take positives that hard work can push anyone close. Some great last ditch defence from Toronto probably flattered them a bit.

The consolation with this defeat is that Toronto will be out of the Championship. Noticed Noble whinging yet again. Oh so sorry Brian that the RL aren't bending back for you guys. Sport = Level playing field = alternate home and away. So so so stupid having a Canadian team in our domestic league. I really despair

I thought the Ref was fine. He made the odd mistake but so does everyone. It was great to actually have a super league ref for a change.I wonder why anyone would want to be a ref. You just get stick and clearly they aren't trying to get it wrong.

The better team won. Yes they niggled, slowed the game down and generally used all the tricks but Fax didn't have the ability to score. It was a good effort and on a different day could have gone a different way but on balance it was at least a ten point ball game.

The question I have to ask is, could any of the Toronto side make it in Super league if they qualify. I would have to say no. They are a collection of either over the hill or fringe super league players, Toronto will have to recruit a whole new side.

I was sitting in the East stand and I have to say some of the stuff from the crowd was an embarrassment to Halifax, A few hysterical old ladies clearly had no concept of the rules. There was a constant anti ref tirade, class comments as "hit him", "pull his hair" and a load more I'd expect to see at a 1970's wrestling match. They told the ref to stop the clock when the scrum wasn't formed, accused him of wasting time when the clock was stopped and had clearly never heard of the free play by the way they screamed at the players when they kicked on one.

It was just really really cringey.
