If you think Johno played well I don’t think you watched the same game as the rest of us. Don’t think he ran at the defence more than a couple of times and kept pushing the same ineffective plays time and again. He came across as very one dimensional once his pet plays didn’t work and didn’t seem to be able to adapt to the fast defence with anything which would worry Toronto. Maybe just a bad day at the office, but if not it shows how limited he is against better teams.

Its probably an indictaion of where we are as a club. Much better than the 6 teams below us but not quite capable of pushing to the next level that might actually see us compete in the middle 8's. The only way we can do that is with some investment and hopefully the extra money this year will be spent on 1 or 2 real quality players that could help us take that next step up. As great as it is making the middle 8's at what point do we just say that is enough? We could end up with a record something like 2/21 by the end of these fixtures. Are we just content with that?

Recruitment will be key-particularly as the funding/8s system will probably change next season, which alters the goalpost to finishing top as opposed to top 4.

Well if the Scott Grix rumour has substance and if Sam wood emulates Simon Grix the future solution may already be in front of us. To be fair the issue with the halves has been rattling around for 4 seasons now under previous management with-action taken but the wrong option taken a few times ie release Thackery and get in the likes of Gaz Moore ( and the batley bloke before him that I can't even remember his name ( H something? ) so he really left an impression ) so it's rather rich to portray it as an emerging issue that has suddenly popped up this year and requires fixing and we need some money to fix it ie nothing to do with me someone else sort it and now . The positive might be its already fixed and sorted but we don't know. I actually felt like WBH would have been a bench option last week because he does have good hands and quick feet.

To be fair we have been spoiled previously with the likes of Ben Black, Graham Holroyd and Luke Branighan. Johnno showed a bit of promise when he first arrived, but hasn’t kicked in for me - and most teams have worked him out now. Is his lack of development down to coaching, lack of desire on his behalf or maybe he hasn’t just got what is needed??

Scott Grix would be the logical option especially if QLT takes up Wakefields offer. Obviously we can't afford Moss but by the sounds of it did make an offer for QLT but I would expect him to stay at a FT club if he can. Even Grix at this stage in his career would be a better option than any other realistic target we have.

Scott Grix has been great for Wakey and would prove an excellent signing. I also heard the rumours about him coming to Fax, and Moss signing for Bradford. Maybe someone can ask him? He's sometimes in the 3 Pigeons before a Fax home match. Probably that's how the rumour started!

Graham Holroyd
And I remember him getting torrents of abuse from some of our so called supporters
