Neil's Notes v Leeds : Mon Sep 24, 2018 12:09 pm
We might not have won a game yet in the Super 8's but the players have given 110% and half time yesterday Leeds were certainly worried. In the end 2 Brad Dwyer quick tries and full time v part time started to tell but even when the game was out of our reach they were determined in the last 10 minutes not to concede any further points.
With a gate of over 4500 and a banqueting suite bursting at the seams it was certainly a day to remember
Brandon Moore took the sponsors. Investing for Tomorrow MOM along with 2nd place in the Shay Lounge Player of Season and 2 points with first and 3 points to Will Sharp. 3rd place and 1 point went to Steve Tyrer. Final placings see Will retain the trophy he won last year with 16 points and 2nd was Ben Johnston with 10 and 3rd Chester Butler on 9 points. They will all receive a case of beer to be presented at Player of Season awards night in The Shay Banqueting suite along with all the other awards on Thursday 27th September 7.30pm. The event is free and all supporters are welcome.
Donald Robertshaw number 30 won the main prize a 2019 season ticket in Club 1873 drawn after the Leeds game. 6 bonus numbers were drawn out who will receive 2 numbers for the price of 1 when renewing in 2019. Alan Grant 8, Winifred Drummond 17, Paul Haggerty 50, Kay Mitton 80, Kevin Waldron 108 and Gordan Raistrick 128.
Thank you to everybody who has supported Club 1873 and Away Travel. Final accounts have still to be prepared but should show over £2000 that went in support of the reserves.
Finally the half time draw winning number was 7083 for a massive £421.
