I would say so too.

Even at 32 Widdop would still get a big 3 year deal from a SL club imo

Wouldn’t be surprised if Golding ends up at Bradford Bulls with his best mate Jordan Lilley after Gregg McNally, their number one was released today.

He might not be the most naturally talented player in the squad but I'm a huge fan of his purely for his attitude and work ethic. That's not to say I disagree with giving Jack the no 1 shirt (I'd start Jack over Ashton at FB) but Ashton's a model professional and if more of the squad had anything close to his commitment and attitude last year then we'd be in a much better place. (imho)

Ashton is very athletic, quite skilful and has great commitment, and for me he would be retained in the squad for another season or two at least. He gives cover at 1, 6, 7, 9 and wing. Problem is he’s another “jack of all trades” player.
Will be interesting to see if McClelland puts some pressure on Myler this season.
We have a pretty good team overall on paper, but they will need to get selections right and continue to renew the squad a bit. 2020 might be much better but I don’t believe in writing off seasons for a club the size of Leeds.

For me we will win a few that we are not expected to win and we will lose similar types of games.
Without doubt we are short at prop and we are going with a new HB pairing.
The jury is still out on Myler for me so we will see what happens there.
With a decent cup draw we might get to the semis but top 5 will be a bonus at seasons end.
I would also go with Handley and Golding at LC/LW until Watkins is fit.
