Players switching from Union to League

After Shaun Edwards recent comments regarding high profile Union players having interest in playing RL in afew years time, is this just what RL needs? More publicity from high profile internationals switching from Union to League?

Clearly we can't produce our own superstars. Certainly not on the level of someone like Owen Farrell. I think getting them from Union is the best we can hope for.

I for one would enjoy seeing a high profile Union player playing our game.

Absolutely no chance of Farrell coming to Rugby League, he's on £750,000 a year

Plus his international England and Lions earnings will take him over the million

As I have stated many times before. The salary cap is ludicrously low. Ben foden last club Northampton ,slightly above average full back, salaryabout six hundred grand . Why would he even contemplate coming to rugby league. Owen Farrell’s package with England, his club and the lions the other year was about a million . Best of luck to the lad.

On the topic, I’m happy just to see people playing the game, I don’t care where they come from or what sport.

On the topic drift, the salary cap is ludicrously low after 20 or so years without movement. There should however be a reinstatement of the 50% of income rule to save clubs from themselves.

We know the caps are astronomically different. This isn't the topic of debate is it?

I suppose what I'm trying to debate is - is getting well known international Union stars into RL the best way to promote the game in the UK?
