Its going to be really interesting to see the winners and losers amongst our forwards over the rest if the season. Assuming Merrin stays, we've got Ava Longname who's clearly assumed to be a starter, plus Wellington and Crosby (eventually). Later we'll have Steve Ward back and at some stage even Ablett may get fit, and some of the kids like Holroyd may get games as well.
So who's most under pressure? Clearly most of the transfer activity has been for the front row, suggesting that's where Furner sees the biggest problem. If Merrin stays you'd assume he'll be 13 which means that Cuthbertson, Singleton, Peteru and Oledzki would be in the firing line. Based on what people have seen so far, who's most likely to NOT be in the first 17 when everyone's fit?
If everyone is match fit would this be the starting pack. Crosby,Parcell,Ava longname Ferres,Merrin. Ward Subs Oledzki,C.Smith,Cuthbertson,Dwyer/Singleton
Ava has not started a game in years as he? I would guess he would be continue the same here as a sub.
Crosby did very well end of last year, but has been out yet again for a long time. Do people really see him coming back the same? Just something not right there.
Singleton looked finished, has been poor for a few seasons. Last few games though he looks one of the picks of our pack. If he continues in the same form then he would be before a lot.
Cuthbertson has looked very poor, but hopefully that is down to injury and fitness, rather than finished.
That gives us plenty of impact off the bench and of course depends on Crosby and Ward ever putting in a shift and Singleton playing like he has done recently.
We would have Ablett, Ferres, Cuthbertson, JJB, Holroyd, Muzzi, Trout and Walters to fit in at least. For me JJB and Ferres to be moved on or retired.

Oledski is under now threat only 21 and already a reguler first teamer.

i Think Albert has been signed to replace Crosby hence short term deal, either Crosby is pretty much done for the season or the vast majority of it. Cuthbo does seem to have lost his edge was one of the best forward in the league a few years ago looks a shadow of that now. Singleton just not good enough, looked ok around peacock Kylie but now been asked to step up a level and cannot do it.
Singleton's chortle-worthy yardage numbers weren't so much of a problem when we had Peacock and Leuluai. But they are distinctly unfunny if that's all he can do when he is relied on to be one of the pack leaders.
Regardless of how it all works out, the best possible outcome will be for all the existing forwards to start playing as though they understand that moving forwards places need to be earned. That's why I'm pleased that even though Merrin and Ava aren't here yet, Trout has been named in the squad for Hudds.
Another "project" signing ,defensively he's as much use as a traffic cone that's already a major weakness so adding more woes to it makes no sense at all.

I think we've seen as much as Albert will bring to the party last night. Why waste an overseas spot on a championship reject?
I don't disagree that we need bulk in the front row, but why get rid of Mullally (not that I was a fan of his), to bring someone arguably worse...

2 YEAR contract for that bloke
A very good performance from Albert yesterday, these posters really do look silly now.
