Think adding a few more F/T players won't hurt us. A gradual rebuild is required and if we ever want to get into SL, we need to be at a stage where at least the majority of the squad is FT. Jumping from fully PT to FT doesn't work.

We seem to be rumoured with some very good players (admittedly many won't come off, but it seems we're looking at the right player, (Hytchox, Dwyer, Wesbter) and more importantly, areas where we look like we need strengthening.

I think most of the squad are signed up next season, so we have some continuity there, and we're young so we'll only improve. I think Lee Smith. Ashley Gibson Dalton Grant, and Chisholm (along with the loanees) are the only first teamers OOC. I'd sign Chisholm, look to see if we can get better than Gibson & Smith, if not sign them up for another year.

Next year i'd like us to see line up something like the below and i think we would have a good crack at the championship (provided we don't love up the rest of the season):

1. Pickersgill/Mcnally
2. Hytchcox?new winger
3. New Centre/Gibson
4. Oakes
5. Ryan
6. Lilley/Keyes
7. Chisholm
8. Crossley
9. new hooker
10. Bustin
11. Laithwaite
12. New second-rower
13. Minchella

14. Flanagan
15. Peltier
16. James Green/New Prop
17. Matty Garside

We have the foundations of a really food squad, just a couple of good additions needed.

No Vee? think hes done well this year and deserves a shot at the bigger leagues, if we get Butterworth back from loan too be good to see him have a run (unless Dwyer does sign and then that's out of the window). Wouldn't be too bothered if Chiz didn't sign again, his attitude has been way off and hasn't performed anywhere near where he should be. Should be Lilley and Keyes for next few games. Webster would be a good signing.

Not fussed for Chisholm either. Wasn’t a queue for him last time ,doubt there will be again.

I noticed that one of the Sky commentators was linking us with Webster at Cas last night, and no it wasn't Jon Wells...

To me, Webster is the type of player we need. Vastly experienced, looks after himself and still hungry to play. We don't need flashy. We need reliable and people who will give Kear 100% every game. This is where a top coach is worth his wage picking up this type of player (like Foxy did) and where Jimmy and Ferres went completely wrong.
Also agree about part time. I think only the very top players in SL should be full time as our game isn't financially strong enough for all players to disregard a good career outside rugby to train full time and then look to get another career. The RFL is never going to match the NRL for money earned over such a short career.

I'm not sure. Webster gets injured quite a lot and that will only get worse as he gets older.
We don't want another McNally situation.

That is true Northus.
I can't make my mind up about McNally with all his injuries. Pickers has really put the cat amongst the pigeons regarding full back. He has played so well this year that he has to be our future starting full back - but when will he be fully ready? Now and next year is the best time to bring the young ones through but we just don't know how good McNally really is.
Ideally, McNally will get over his injuries and give us one or two good years and then step aside to possibly centre for Pickers to take his place where he looks like he belongs.

I understand the Bulls have talked to 2 or 3 Featherstone players. Not sure on the outcome.
