Hang on, didn't Robert Elstone assure us that the Play Offs were going to be no more?

I definitely won't be even considering buying until we get a definitive statement about the structure for next season

Michael Carter was on sl golden poont yesterday (spoke well) but he seemed pretty certain the 8s won't be in place for next year. He mentioned it would be a simple 1 up 1 down (which is what i prefer). Play each other home and away then loop fixtures FFS. Bloody loop fixtures!

I wonder if the SL clubs are hoping to convince the RFL without the championship clubs being on board. Elstones statement never mentions the championship/L1 clubs. Only the RFL. Suggests to me they're going to try hammer this through without their support (i think they would support it given time and proper due diligence)

I wish common sense would take over. I actually want the structure to change like SL to simple 1 up 1 down and top 5 (but for gods sake no loop fixtures) the problem is, like Damian Irvine said on back chat, they are trying to rush the decision through. Season tickets are on sale for some clubs so its too late to change next season. As Damian Irvine said, do some research and due diligence and get every one around a table in December and sort something to start in 2020. Unfortunately this is RL...

An adult ticket for the provident stand last year (and the year prior) was £199. Next year it will be £249, so roughly a price rise of 25%.
Also seems a bit odd to me that a season ticket for the stand only costs an extra £24 more than one for the terrace?

I'll still be getting one but I hope they know what they're doing with these price hikes.

I obviously decide on the value of buying in advance differently to some supporters. We don’t even know what division we will be in yet or how many games this will cover.

And a lot can happen between now and February... or whatever month it may or may not kick off from! The incentives all encourage to buy in the next few days and before the end of August, what is the big hurry? Maybe I’m just pessimistic after the last few years and I’m clearly not their target audience.

Agree with all that Bull Mania

I just don't see how they can possibly start selling Season Tickets when there is absolutely no guarantee how many games there will be or what the format is.

I've seen one supposedly in the know person (yeah, I know..) on another forum saying that they've heard that there'll be a 14 team Championship next year, achieved by one down and three up at the end of this year. If that happens, then that would mean they can guarantee 14 games (13 home plus Bash) without the need for any end of season play off games. (It would also presumably mean we are almost guaranteed to be promoted as presumably its first two up, then a play off for the third promotion place)

But as of right now, we don't even know what division we'll be in, so committing to season ticket is madness. Are people going to be happy if they commit to those prices, only to end up with League 1 rugby again?

Has anyone else put their season tickets up for sale yet?

Sorry to treat this as bad news, but I just feel that there's a funding gap in the Bulls future and they're pushing the tickets NOW to try and avoid that.

Maybe that's not it at all and I'm just a little paranoid due to the number of off season issues we've had to endure over recent years.

However, as other people have pointed out:
1) We don't know which league we'll be playing in next year.
2) IF we go up, we don't know what the league format will be for next year.

Really doesn't seem like it's been thought through.

That being said, in an attempt to be even handed and put a positive spin on this, perhaps the club DO already know the format and are confident of going up to the Championship and as such need the cash injection to be able to sign in some heavy hitters for next year.

Bradford are the ninth club to start selling 2019 season tickets. Halifax, York, Featherstone, Widnes etc... are already selling season tickets for next year.

Is there funding issues at those eight clubs? I think not.

Do those clubs have a history of not paying bills/staff and being in financial crisis every couple of years, meaning their fans have good reason to be worried constantly? I think not.

They did exactly the same last year. The way they're pushing the "Loyalty" campaign is so transparent, it may as well be made out of glass. It's the same thing Chalmers has done since he took over. Constantly asking the fan base to be loyal and using emotional blackmail to make sure they cough up as much money as possible and hand it straight over to the club, playing that loyalty card to mask the fact that actually it's often a rip off.
If it was any other place you were a customer, you'd refuse and tell them where to go. But the emotional attachment makes people overlook it and hand their money over. And Chalmers knows that full well. And honestly, while thousands of people continue to do it, I can't say I blame Chalmers, as it works.

As far as them being able to take the mickey more than a standard company because of their emotional attachment, absolutely yes. I don't feel like every sports club in the world uses that to rip their fans off quite as much as others though. A little, maybe. But certainly to completely different levels.
