It was a fantastic effort but, Wire scored from the next play.
Houghton's effort won Hull the game (or more precisely, stopped Warrington winning).

Magnificent moment for he, Hull and the competition. After that I simply couldn't begrudge Hull that trophy, not that I could beforehand. Brilliant, honest game where every player gave their all. No niggles, no fighting, just straight laced play from each man made for an enthralling game. That tackle will be a part of this competitions history forever now. It's funny, because had the pitch been just a little bit wet, Currie would have kept tighter hold of that and slid over regardless of the tackle. As it were, bone dry pitch and the ball sticks where it lands. Crushing for him but without his earlier try we wouldn't have been in the position to win. I'm so excited for his future in this game.

Simply sensational - his 52nd tackle of the game I think.

A great Cup Final moment.

Great post.

And you're right. That was one of the most physically intense games I've ever seen but also one of the cleanest. Great credit to both teams a truly classic match.

I've watched the game over 35 years and have never seen players so knackered.

Did he have to play on his own for 10 mins :D

Fantastic effort though and I agree with the comments about everyone looking knackered, it showed the true meaning of being "out on your feet".
To a man, of either side, every player gave all that they possibly could.
Courage and commitment, wow !

A fantastic effort by Houghton near the end, he seemed to put in the extra effort only afforded to a one club man.

A gripping game where either side would have been worthy winners, no grubby tactics, which helped the ref to breeze through.

Exemplary post match interview with Tony Smith, the bloke has class.

If Hull F.C. reach the G.F. maybe Radford could dip into his bonus to get a new suit & a top tooth.
