If he pulls the plug then the best Leigh can hope for is League 1.
If that happened then it would be interesting to see, perhaps in 2019, the Leigh fans welcoming a team from Avignon
Don't think we are allowed to 'welcome' French teams. We applauded Toulouse last week, and then got into trouble for it! (what's French for 'despicable' and 'disgusting'?)
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
If he pulls the plug then what will happen to Leigh?
The same can be said of many clubs with benefactors.......Leigh averaged 6,500 or so in SL last year whilst HRK averaged 1,000 more in the 2nd tier......Leigh just aren't able to attract loyal and regular fans. 9k v Saints or 5k v Wakefield shows how they are over reliant on away fans and now this year they are attracting 3,850 and Rochdale and Swinton won't bring as many as Saints, Wigan, Wire, Wides and Salford. I feel for owners who plough millions into clubs for little if any return, but sometimes these owners need to be realistic and in the case of Leigh, the 2nd tier is where they belong. '
Numpty aside, 7 or maybe 8 losses is the maximum any team has had and made the Qualifiers. Leigh have already hit half that quota and have already played 4 home games....next up is a trip to the Shay and if they don't win that then I can see them struggling to get anything from the season.
Fax have been firing blanks so far this season. A poor show against Fev, a decent performance against the Eagles but left it late to pull away, a chance missed against Toronto, and a very unconvincing win against Rochdale. One of Leigh or Fax have an opportunity to get back on track next weekend.
The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings"..
Worry a little bit every day and in a lifetime you will lose a couple of years. If something is wrong, fix it if you can. But train yourself not to worry. Worry never fixes anything.

One likes people much better when they're battered down by a prodigious siege of misfortune than when they triumph.
Totally agree. I had the misfortune of being at Bradford a couple of seasons ago when the Salford hooligans were doing the same. It’s not very nice for the women and children in attendance

Only St. Helens brought more than 1000 fans...
Indeed I do and those % of populations were great, so Thanks for that.
Maybe I should have been clearer......Leigh are not a SL standard club, as has been shown over the last 3 years. The walked the Championship in 2015 dropping just 3 points all season, but then fell apart in the Qualifiers, winning 1 from 7. The Following year they again waltzed the comp dropping only 3 points and this time won all but 1 of their Qualifier games to be promoted.........then they won 5 home games and 1 away game in the regular season before winning 1 more game v SL opposition from 4 and being relegated........to recap, 27 games against SL opposition with 5 home wins, 2 away wins and 20 defeats...a 74% loss ratio is not SL standard and the right team were relegated....this stat gets worse if we count all your games v SL opposition since the start of the Qualifiers.......7 wins in 31 games.........This year, there has been an alarming drop in both form and attendances at Leigh...........Salford, Wakefield, Widnes and Huddersfield are also borderline SL standard sides, but they haven't been relegated YET........whilst you guys have!.........by the way, Please explain how 8,000 locals and 1,000 St Helens fans made up the 9k, but those 8,000 locals were never to be seen again that season, even after you won that game? 7k was the gate v Salford, Wigan and Wire....I'd suggest those are the teams that brought 1,000 or so, but St Helens brought considerably more...your average attendance without those 4 games v your neighbours was 5,857.
