The only retarded thing is your attitude imho. How are you letting him go for free to anyone. He's facing a ban ffs he's no use to anyone for two years and that's assuming he ever gets his form back! In the meantime Cas free up cash and thus space under the cap.

What exactly do you expect them to do, keep paying him whilst trying to sell a player nobody wants to buy.

Also team moral states that it's best to get shut of this kind of bad influence ASAP.

Finally is he the best FB in SL? It's pretty subjective but even if he is that's more indicative of the lack of quality in SL than anything else - he's no Slater and most teams imho could function just fine without him.

Get a grip.

You do know that we could de register Hardaker and he wouldn’t count on the cap don’t you ??? Or do you just make your own rules up ??? No wonder you darent go to supporters evenings because your scared of getting a b1tch slap

Waste of Talent, which is becoming more frequent in our sport. There is some education for management level personnel at clubs needed to help guide young players away from situations like this.

My take (FWIW), I reckon Cas were waiting the official result of an appeal on the drugs test itself, possibly with a view to ZH getting off on an administrative technicality. If he had got off, Cas could have off loaded him for a nominal fee and there fore be seen to do the right thing and wash their hands of him. That they have simply sacked him could suggest that the ban is to be served and ZH will not be allowed to play for 2 years.

Just a thought, I do not profess to know the inner workings at Cas.

Usually player's contracts are insured by the club in the event of bans/lengthy injuries meaning they can still pay the player's wages whilst unregistering them for salary cap purposes. I believe Widnes are still paying Rangi Chase in this way. This news seems to indicate that Cas either didn't have his contract insured or the insurers aren't willing to pay out.

The sacking suggests to me that they have either agreed to pay him off a fraction of what would remain on his contract or they have managed to go through the correct disciplinary procedures to be able to get rid of him for nothing. It amazes me that these types of things are rarely classed as dismissible gross misconduct as a standalone misdemeanour.

I wish everyone would read bramleyrhino's post two or three times just to get it through some thick skulls

Mr bramleyrhino speaks a lot of sense.

Clubs have got better in this regard - things like insisting that acadamey players undertake some form of study alongside their rugby have been in place for a while.

But there are some people who will simply spurn whatever help they are given. Zak was certainly not short of offers of support and help from Leeds, and I trust that Castleford (knowing of his previous issues when they took him on) weren't providing him with the support as well.

Hardaker's issues seem to stem from the social group he surrounds himself with. If he wants to associate with a group of wasters with nothing to lose, that's his ongoing decision. The only difference is that he does have something to lose and, despite this presumably being pointed out to him numerous times, he has decided that it was a gamble worth taking.

But like with any gamble, the house always wins in the end.

My mistake. It is Wire that want Johnstone. Wigan are interested in Fifita.

Particularly Hardaker. He is irreplacebale in terms of his stupidity, but certainly not irreplaceable as a player.

And your replacement full back who will light up the league in the same way is ............ answers on a postcard. Should be easy. After all, you've had a whole off-season to sort it.

Oh do give it a rest, everyone is interested in Johnstone, you have no more idea than anyone else whether Warrington are especially so. All clubs are interested in players that's early news.

On the Fifita one you really are looking stupid. That was pure speculation by a Wakefield fan the other day on our site that Wigan may look at him now they have lost what's his name but even he never suggested it came from Wigan.

You really are looking silly and spiteful, it wasn't us who drugged Hardaker, you do know that? :SUBMISSION:

I'd bet any insurance on a player's contract would be specifically nullified if they were ruled out because of their own behaviour. It'd be like trying to have arson by yourself included on your house insurance policy.

I read Wane's comments in the YEP, and he seems to be in that delusional world so many people from other teams get into when they're interested in a talented serial offender - we'd look after him, he's a great lad etc. If I were Wane and was interested, I'd be strongly flagging that there'd be no way Wigan would touch Hardaker unless there were major signs he'd changed etc.

To be honest I'd put him more in the Todd Carney category, and have the RFL decide whether he's considered fit to be registered as a player at all before letting him come back, and making damn sure any contract he signed included copious behavioural requirements and mandatory frequent and regular drug testing.

So who is right, was he 'sacked' for binning off hardaker's contract or not?
why should you be taken seriously?
