Toulouse for Championship in 2017, Super League in 2021!

Avignon for Championship in 2021, Super League in 2022!

Israel Folau has expressed Christian fundamentalist views about homosexuality. The Australian Rugby Union officials are mortified. Folau will not back down on his opinions and may leave the Australian Rugby Union.

https://wwos.nine.com.au/2018/04/16/22/ ... bies-folau

Should he be approached by a Super League club? He would cost per year around AU$1 million, which is US$760,000, and more than half a million pounds I think.

Who could afford him apart from Catalans? (Never mind that Catalans already have a marquee player in their sights in the person of Samuel Tomkins).

Should the SL clubs be deterred from signing him by his views on homosexuality? Would Betfred even care about those issues?

These are questions that need to be answered urgently, because NRL clubs may chase him..

One thing is for certain: if Israel Folau leaves the ARU, then the Wallabies have no chance of even making the semi-finals of the 2019 Rugby Union World Cup. It will further undermine the popularity of rugby union in Australia.

Jean, you must be having terrible nightmares of late.

I must reiterate - Why would he want to play in the championship?

Good thinking Jean, all SL clubs have Christian fundamentalist views about homosexuality

RL should be working on cleaning up it's act and not encouraging people with outspoken views on such things.
The sport has always been "inclusive" and rightly so.

He's entitled to his own views, however misguided, distasteful or just plain wrong they are. In itself, it doesn't make him unemployable.

He won't be the only high profile sportsman/woman to hold these views - he's just one of the few to open his silly gob.

One of the other few was Zachary Hardaker.

No way would i like to see him return to Rugby League, Super League or NRL. He walked out on the game before and when he had the chance to return declined after union upped its offer to him

JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

Indeed he is, but that wasn't the question posed by the multi-personality pseudo white flag surrender monkey........ the answer to which is NOT A FLIPPING CHANCE.
I see Bellamy has said the storm would take him........that would set their plans for attracting fans to game back decades in a city that is as cosmopolitan as any in Europe.......let the fundamentalist tw@ rot in Japanese Union.....or even better, send him back to the AFL where a reach around is de rigure (sic) on mad Monday......
