Usually just very slow to form scrums. Gave the DJ plenty of chance to play his tunes!

why the anthems at the beginning I don't know I mean it wasn't an international game,
they gave a good account for them selves which I thought they would which is far better than watching a dire widnes side,
crowd seem uninterested at times like they was being forced to watch the game but I suppose its because the games new to them, I like the open set up great in summer I bet but where's the cover, does it never rain Toronto,
I take it the token tents at the end are for the beer, its a good way of serving and speeds things up

Pedant! There was water on at every stoppage as there is in all games, it is more noticeable when there are more stoppages.

Anthems are a North American thing, for any sport. For example, even if both teams are from Canada, they will play the Canadian national anthem. When the teams are from two different countries even if not an international match, they play both anthems.

It does rain here but in two seasons I can only recall one Wolfpack game where it rained heavily all day but miraculously stopped just before kick-off.

The tents at the north end are the beer garden. Two tents sell tokens and the rest sell beer - leaves the servers free to pour beer without wasting time taking cash and processing debit cards. Each tent is run by a different craft brewer although we now regularly have BrewDog and yesterday for the first time we had Meantime who appear to be from Greenwich.

so in theory you should also play other players anthems ie Aussie, Somoa, Tonga I can understand it being an American thing, we use the same system at our beer events over here so simple when your just deal with beer, shame you'll not get to try the beer I made and served at Belle vue it was stonking ale

I think it's a nice cultural touch. Something grim northern clubs could do with embracing.

Can we quit with the North/South divide rubbish please. Karen.

Unfortunately my flat cap covers my ears so I can’t hear the buggers anyway!

Didn't hear much of the Canadian anthem being sung, I think Rowley took the P.A system from Leigh when he scarpered.
