It is right that the salary cap is the same for all, despite the position Leigh are in. A post like this is expected really from a stuck up Leeds fan.
The salary caps are effectively the same as they were before. The English clubs can still spend £1.9m as agreed by the SLE board, and the European clubs can spend €2.4m s agreed by the SLE board. All that has changed is that the spending power of the English clubs has got weaker by comparison - something that is beyond the control of anyone involved in RL.
There is no "advantage" to Catalans (or Toulouse) in absolute terms as they have no more money available to spend than they did before, and the UK clubs have no less available to spend than before - which is what ultimately matters in the context of player contracts that may span 2-4 years.
There's no realistic way that you can create a "live" salary cap limit based on the prevailing exchange rate. You could theoretically "review" the salary cap every year in the context of the prevailing rate, but that review would have to reflect the long-term nature of player contacts - which was the issue we had with Wigan when they received an exemption when the cap was first introduced. It's also important to consider that the current Euro salary cap limit may also be set to reflect local costs or taxes that may not apply to UK clubs / players.

You've misinterpreted my post. I am alluding to the championship salary cap is right being on a level playing field same as SL,despite Leigh's position. It's in response to RT sarcastic post.

Fair enough. In which case, I'd be inclined to agree in the current structure, although it does raise a question as to what the purpose of the salary cap is - to create a level playing field and to spread the talent, or to protect clubs from themselves?
If it's the latter, we need to acknowledge that aligning the Championship and SL salary caps does allow for this "casino" style of club spending.
I'll take that as a gloat towards Leigh fans who don't manage the club. BTW - It is right that the salary cap is the same for all, despite the position Leigh are in. A post like this is expected really from a stuck up Leeds fan.
Leigh have spent more and considerably more than at least half the championship clubs, so that is not fair either. but Catalans have not done anything wrong and there is no conspiracy. Ps a prefer franchises anyway and Leigh deserve a place more than Widnes Salford Wakefield currently anyway.

If you have the money,it is fair. If a sugar daddy turns up at Batley next season, they will spend more than others. The point is that the Salary cap should be the same for all. Leigh has been managed badly with the money they had,and are now facing serious repercussions. BTW - I never said Scatalans had done anything wrong.
Two issues here. Yes, the exchange rate set for Catalan does seem a little generous as the average over the past 10 years is just above 1.20 euros / pound, with a "spike" at the end of 2015 /early 2016 at just over 1.40. Prior to this the euro was 1.50- 1.60 which, assuming the same calculation was used, Catalan would have been allowed to spend less than other clubs but, I can find the thread a bout this Having said that, it does make sens for this to be looked at periodically and adjusted to give parity for all clubs.
The second point here is that although 5/6 clubs will be spending the full cap, there arent too many making full use of the Marquee players, therefore, IF Huddersfield of anyone else is desperate to match Catalan spend, fill your boots, spent the full cap, use the marque players and then complain some more.
You could be forgiven for thinking this story is a bit of anti Catalan propaganda and you could be forgiven for thinking there was an important game on the near horizon, with someone wanting to get an early psychological hit on the opposition.

If anyone on here goes to the matches, I’ve had the misfortune to see them twice this season and have watched the turgid away stuff Catalans throw up, fake injuries, they always get up and play on, in the refs ear claiming foul play the other way, Birds constant off the ball antics and any other way they can stop the game to let their powerful but easily tired forwards get a breath. One match this season finished at 10.12pm there were so many stoppages.
So no conspiracy I hope the Wire thrash them cos a Catalans ‘spoil it’ style cup final will do the game no good at all......

Which has preciesely what to do with your original thread topic?
Why not be honest, say you dont like Catalans rather than hide behind the salary cap story?
Its fine, I can take it
