Apparently last week wigan would only beat cas if the ref let wigan get away with everything, break all the rules etc.

On redvee both teams in the final are grubby and dirty yet on the wire board it's only us that do it?

Top line, winners will be grinners and the rest can make their excuses.

I'd take a Wire 1-0 win in a total borefest if I was offered it. Winning ugly would suit any Wigan or Wire spectator on Saturday.

Yeah spot on, it was a strange criticism.

Warrington will also be trying to slow down the PTB as much as they can when Wigan are attacking. Every team does, only thing Wigan are guilty of is usually being the best at it.

It’s not cheating to slow down the PTB, it’s tactics.

Warrington RLFC: The Wire, NOT Warrington Wolves

FORZA WIRE

Re: GRAND FINAL WEEK : Wed Oct 10, 2018 10:34 pm
I couldn't care less if it's a good game or not. If it's one of the worst matches ever played but Wires win it will be the best thing that's happened in my 24 years of watching them. If it's a free flowing expansive exhibition of outstanding rugby league but we lose, then I'm not going to console myself with "at least it was a good game". The result is all that matters.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

If it were my team in the final then you would want them to do everything in their power to win - as an observer you want a game that truly reflects the skill sets on show

Re: GRAND FINAL WEEK : Thu Oct 11, 2018 11:31 am
As a neutral I admire the Wigan club's culture of bringing there young lads into the first team constantly and when they throw the ball about to the winger's they are enjoyable to watch, But these days they are awful to watch with slowing the game down so much and i know every other team do the same but wigan are the master of it.

Warrington in comparison are a team enjoyable to watch most of the time a bit like Wakey so i'll go for a wire win.

Strange how most fans think it's everybody else's clubs that are responsible for ruining the game and/or cheating - And in particular the more successful clubs tend to bear the brunt of that criticism.
In reality the Best Teams adapt & play the rules/refs better.

I don't buy into the Idealistic myth that they're playing a better brand of Rugby and the only reason they're not winning is the Refs don't punish the so called offending Teams.
Nothing but Paranoia excuses.

I also don't buy into the Saints/Cas argument that they played great Rugby all year and only failed at the final hurdles because that's not the type of rugby that wins GF's.
They didn't win because they weren't good enough when it mattered.

Any style of Rugby can win GF's if your good enough at it and more importantly if you have the Players and the Bottle to do it when it matters

If you get away with something which is against the rules, it's cheating.
However, that is why we have a referee (and his assistants).

There is one certainty, Wire wont be getting too many quick play the balls.

It's not that long ago that Trin stopped Wigan from playing the ball quickly, but that was OK
