Who is this Tompkins guy some of you are talking about?
As for Sam Tomkins..... the trip was a definite yellow but Hicks bottled it, the knees was accidental IMO and penalty sufficient. His conversion attempts have been pretty laughable as well.
Plenty of manbags on show and couple of bits of quality from Wigan the difference between the teams ATM. If they go 2 scores up I think Wire will struggle to get back into the game.
No he’s not, big games do tend to show more leniency from refs and rightly so otherwise fans would complain about showpiece occasions being ruined by cards (unless they’re supporting a certain team). Maybe only supporters of big teams who regularly compete in big games understand this though

Pretty much summed it up. Trip was a trip, definite yellow. The knees were accidental.
Trip should have been a yellow but honestly regardless of the player, or team, or ref, that was never gonna be a yellow card in a grand final. As daft as that is, as a yellow offence SHOULD be given a yellow, but no ref would have given it in my opinion. Incident with the knees for my money was purely an unfortunate accident. Anybody claiming otherwise is doing so based on their dislike of either Tomkins himself or Wigan.
