You could also argue it’s poor form from Garbutt with his comments whilst leaving and his actions last season.

Whilst some fans may be going OTT with dismissing his ability he’s brought some of it on himself.

What were these actions exactly then? Not rumours but actual fact?

Given the reporter will have asked him about his surprising departure from Leeds what did he say that was so bad? Didn’t throw anybody personally under the bus just basically said two sides to every story. Certainly no worst than Sinfield coming out with cryptic comments that has brought about the rumours, so why is it ok when Sinfield did it but not Garbutt?

He mentioned on a couple of occasions that basically he couldn’t wait to leave Leeds.

How could anyone prove his actions as “actual fact” without hidden cameras recording it all? No-one can. What you can go off is people involved at the club, whose opinion I trust, who all state a similar account of both his attitude and actions. And that then tallies in with him not being picked for most of the season despite the trouble we were in.
We signed Thompson rather than play Garbutt, that’s a big indicator in itself.
Unfortunately Garbutt appears to be another one who isn’t prepared to tough it out when things don’t go his way.

Did he? All I’ve seen him say was the following....“Some things happened at Leeds that I didn’t know about originally…” the 29-year-old admitted for the first time.

“It all came out in the end. I wasn’t happy with how some things were done towards the end of the year and the opportunity came to leave. I’ll leave it at that”

Or he was just injured. Convenient all these accusations and criticisms only come out AFTER he left. Will he have been the best trainer or in the best shape, probably not but then again Sinfield made Brett Ferres captain and have signed a couple of NRL players with questionable fitness and physiques. Like I said very poor if people are going to slate him based off Chinese whispers that they can’t be sure are true instead of just wishing him well and thanking him for his efforts to help us win 2 GF’s. Says a lot more about certain sections of the Leeds support than it does Garbutt.

Hence the wink. Very rare for me to hold any genuine grudges against lads who've put in a shift for us - be that Garbutt, McDermott, Segeyaro or whoever. Equally, I don't care a right lot if others choose to do so - and doubt whether those who've departed do so either.
