Back on topic, this is good news for both Catalan and RL in general.
Due to their profile, "everyone" loves anything connected to Barcelona and RL may even get some national TV coverage for this event.
It can only help the Catalan brand and is a real positive for the sport, the Wigan fans will be there in decent number, along with plenty of curios new fans.

FC Barcelona will receive a fee for the rent of the Nou Camp for this event & probably all bar/food sales etc too, do you think that the LSV, Headingley, DW etc stage RL International's & pop concerts gratis ?

It could be good if they back it up with a really big effort to get as good a crowd and interest in the match as possible. Hopefully it’s not just a case of they’ve booked the venue and just expect/hope the fans to turn up in numbers based on that alone.

The last time rugby was played at the nou camp, 2 years ago between 2 french rugby union teams, there were 99,000 people in attendance.

I think they did ok last time Catalan played in Barca and I would expect an increase on that attendance when they play Wigan next season.

Having said that, it all depends on hoe much advertising / promotion goes on prior to the game, which for me, is the single biggest let down of our sport. Mickey up in a brewery springs to mind

My farm house (where I often sleep after I attend Catalans home games), is not in or just outside Carcassonne. It is 10 miles southwest of Narbonne, and thus approximately 150 miles from Camp Nou.

You are confusing my farm house with my villa, which is near the centre of Carcassonne (and from where I often travel to and from terrific Toulouse).
