so this is because of Bailey refusing taking a drug test, how the hell can he do that
Because the person testing him gave him some water to ' help ' provide the sample , Ryan then claimed the water could have been contaminated and therefore refused the test
Law firm Brandsmiths , who represented Ryan Bailey over his refusal to take a drug test charge , have issued a wind up petition for the UK arm of Trans-Atlantic side Toronto Wolfpack .
The wind up order relates to non payment of legal fees , which is rumoured to be a six figure sum . Bailey who was a Toronto player at the time , could have been banned for 4 years if found guilty of refusing to take a drug test , but his legal team successfully argued his case stating that the water given to him to take before the test could have been contaminated so he was justified in refusing to give a sample .
The wind up order will be held on January 7th , but a spokesperson for Toronto stated that payment issue is being resolved and stressed the petition only concerns the Wolfpack’s UK arm and not the Canadian operation .
Toronto Wolfpack prop Ryan Bailey has escaped a possible four-year ban for refusing to submit to a doping test. The former Great Britain and England rugby league international won his case against U.K. Anti-Doping in a Dec. 8 ruling released Wednesday. Bailey refused the test after fearing the water he was given to drink to facilitate providing a sample was contaminated. “Having heard Mr. Bailey give evidence we do not for one moment think that he is a cheat or was trying to cover up drug taking,” said the ruling by an independent National Anti-Doping Panel tribunal. “Indeed, we note that a few days later Mr. Bailey did in fact undergo a drug test (which was negative) without any problem.” While ruling for Bailey, the panel called it “a truly exceptional case on its own very special facts and psychological evidence” and stressed it should “not be taken as any sort of precedent for other cases.”

if he drank it he's the fool, I smell a cover up there, players drinking from water bottles through out the game you could say the same there then and blame the water boy, where's it end then
Alan , leave it , let it go , they mean nothing to us
There is nothing sinister behind my question Steve. I'm fascinated that they have a 'UK arm' and want to know more about it. And I am interested in TW. Just because I don't approve of having N. American teams in a UK league, doesn't mean I'm not interested in them. They are one of our direct opponents this season, and I like to know about them, just as much as Batley, Swinton, Fev, 'Fax etc.
As for Ryan, that's all history - why, he's even played for us since then, so he must be a decent sort!
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
