Folk keep harping on about what the Club has achieved over the past couple of years,ie getting promoted to SL, having crowds of over 6,500,and getting victories over Wigan, Saints, Warrington, beating Hull away, all well and good, but where are we now?Virtually on our knees,it could take 5 years or longer to get back where we were then, and at a great cost.
Myself and many other fans have seen these days before, big crowds at Hilton Park, victories against Wigan , Saints and Warrington, and victories at Wembley and at Haven tomake us RL Champions, granted all these days are history in the past, but just the same as Mo eludes to now , when he waxes lyrical about the past couple of seasons, Mo it's now history , we are now in a very precarious position, other teams have the jump on us in terms of recruitment of players, season ticket sales, even pre season training which most Clubs will start in around 2 to 3 weeks time.We need to act very fast or the 2019 season will be a very long , hard and unpleasant one for the Club and the Fans.
2016 was amazing considering the coach and a number of key players walked early doors. We regrouped and did what was needed during the season, then strengthened for the games that mattered, learning from the previous years failure when it mattered. We were outstanding against SL opposition, the atmosphere and passion on the terraces was brilliant - we really were in it together those games. SL recruitment was poor, Vea couldn't burst a bag of crisp, stewart wasn't the back row needed, Burr was a grafter at best and losing Tonga left a huge hole. The treatment of Riddy was poor, as was McNally - look how many games we won with him at fb. Derek should have brought in an experienced Aussie to mentor Jukes, had he done so we would be looking at season 3 in SL next year. Who will forget Wire saints and Humbles at home, who remembers the last time we beat all three in a season. It went wrong when we were robbed at Wakey, it went horribly wrong when we had a shocking attitude at home to Widnes, the rest is history but what a turnout and weekend in Perpignan, hold onto the great stuff we experienced as we build again. We are Leythers and most on here support our club through the rare thick and frequent thin, we will do so again
Agree with much of this except for McNally, great Championship FB, not SL standard, never had the defence or build to defend at SL standard though still excellent at chiming into the line. Tonga was on a Retirement Fund Holiday as he was later at Bradford just TTP ! Jukes did a fantastic job in his 1st year as a Head Coach & should rightly be remembered for that especially as Mo says given the ridiculous pre-season circumstances, however he was very much out of his depth especially when KC arrived & he became his puppet, had he had a backbone maybe he would have survived SL without KC influence. ATEOTD Jukes failed to achieve the lowest target ever to be set by a Director 'survive the MPG' is just ridiculous. An experienced Aussie Coach would have needed to take charge while mentoring Jukes if DB had wanted to protect his friend, so in all but name would have been the New Head Coach !
Those seasons explosive, skilful RL we saw in the run up to SL & even SL itself in parts are to be rightfully remembered as some of the best seen at Leigh & I include Paul Rowley's tenure in that too. In context it was an important period in the Club's history but as Charlie pointed out, due to rank bad management decisions it has now cost Leigh R.L.F.C very dearly.
There was enough quality in the squad assembled for 2018 to be promoted back to SL at 1st attempt, however IMHO the damage was done by the KC/Jukes combination & maybe ( I don't know ) by meddling from D.B himself.
Personally I find my position & views on the whats/why's/where for to be somewhere between those of Mozza Maurice & Charlie Caroli , a kind of half way house if you will.
As time goes by supporters become more & more edgy & nervous souls & so do I. For me, if DB stays & only uses RFL funding then Leigh will be in Championship 1 before too long & possibly we could be consigned to C1 long before the season starts if the house is not in order.
I would still love to know *though never will* why the previously very interested Ainscough isn't back in for the Club, what changed his perception or interest ?
Anyway, normally a Season Ticket holder, I will keep my cash money in my pocket until it is confirmed beyond doubt that there will be no admin/liquidation.

The club will not make ST's available whilst there is a risk of administration - will be a great ride next season, full of passion and little expectation (think we will be the surprise package)
Be a brave person to want a season ticket as things stand. When they do become available it will be interesting to see costs, previously it was the players coming in that encouraged people to buy season tickets.

Ste,
My understanding was, back in the time of Keith Freer and Trevor Barton, that Martin Ainscough wasn't interested in putting money directly into the club. He was interested in the youth of the town, and developing a 'Youth Zone' concept, like the one opened in Wigan, back in 2013. Wish he was interested now though!
Regardless of what is going on I have to say that not giving any update is unprecedented.. Tbh it's utter guesswork what is happening (he said, she said etc)so we don't know for certain if DB saying silent is due to threat of players chasing unpaid money or that he's now no interest in the club.
I'm sorry to say it but the club is treating it's remaining fans with contempt.
Well, either the folks running Leigh Centurions twitter account haven't been told there's a crisis, or they know something the rest of us don't know. Take a look at the positive posts on here:-
(e.g. new Kukri merchandise, only 4 months to the start of the season, lottery, 2019 sponsorship......)
