Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.

Yep, that's where I've seen people talking about it. Giving a v sign to the fans apparently. The OP comparing it with Jamie Carragher spitting at a fan from a moving car is absolutely ridiculous and just an attempted hatchet job on someone at the club.

No I'm not talking about the OP's post on here, it's on the FB group and was posted after the game on Sunday - it's still on there now if you go and have a look.

I don't care either way, I wasn't there and it wasn't aimed at me, but the fans who saw it don't seem to be too impressed. This is a forum and the OP has every right to post, I'm not sure what the problem is?

Put it this way, if he did do that (and on FB they claim he mouthed 'f*** *** at the same time) how do you feel about that? Is it OK or do you think he should be punished? I think that's what the OP on here was asking.

Where did I say that you were talking about the OP? I just backed up what you said about the Facebook forums and then gave a separate opinion on the OP, based on this and other posts. A muck stirrer sniffing blood.

In answer to your question, if it happened he should apologise and that should be the end of the matter, as for the OP’s comparison with carragher, if he’d given a v sign and told him to F off, he wouldn’t have been suspended by Sky.

Ah yes, sorry I've just been back and re-read your post and realised that I didn't read it properly the first time around.

If he did it, he's in the wrong. (I was there, but I missed it too!) I guess emotions were running pretty high everywhere (although not as obviously on the pitch!!) and it's an understandable, if not justifiable, response from PA. Hopefully, an apology would go a long way to diffusing this.

Mind you, his response was probably pretty inoffensive, compared with what was heading the way of the players and coaches!

It is in no way justifiable and most definatley not understandable, he is in a position of being an ambassador of the club, however much he believes he is provocated he should be above it and take it with aplomb even though he believes he is in a demading situation, he reacted with venom to both gesticulate and mourh the words, don't misdermean yourself saying it was not inoffensive, at that time it was most definatley meant to be offensive.

Not understandable  don't talk poop - don't care if they are the worst team in living history, as frustrating as it is for the fans if you give it out be prepared to take some back

Ambassador of the club bo££ocks - are they supposed to have a white collar around their neck, they are grown men and if they get abuse its natural to give it back

Cheshire, it's Lancashire really

I disagree, he is a paid employee of the club, therefore he should be man enough to take the flak without resorting to abusive words and gestures towards the fans who contribute to his wages.
Like Carragher he would have immediately regretted rdhis actions but unlike Carragher he hasn’t yet apologised.

For those of you who think it was OK where would you draw the line on what is and is not acceptable from players and staff?

Well we'll agree to disagree :D :D

Carragher has a million smacaroons to apologise for and you cannot compare a fingered gesture and a bit of verbal to the actions of our scouse friend

Do you believe Mark Noble should be banned
