To do exactly what? This thread is about him being a half, biggest mistake Jukes and Cunningham made in selection, putting Hampshire at FB in the million pounder, not the lads fault but he could not execute the art of linking up with the attack to make the extra man, which even McNallys biggest detractors can't accuse him of not being very adept at doing just that.
Hampshire for me is a lot faster, better organiser, better kicker both tactical and goalkicking, better defence ,probably makes better Coffee as well.

Think you need to wake up and smell the coffee - not drink the stuff
Tactical kicking at full back is not a major requirement - and I can remember many moments of McNally excelling at FB, can't really think of one from Rocky

Col, I never touch Tea or Coffee,as for Hampshire, he didn't get the chances with Juksey or KC in charge,as far as excelling moments are concerned, granted it wasn't at full back but you must remember the 90 yarder he scored against Wigan in that big wi at the LSV, he is getting game time at Wakey.Well so it seems,I never rated McNally but would hae him back for next season, maybe along with Riddy, Brierley, and Penky, shows you how the mighty have fallen. But needs must ,we need a bloke in charge, and I would celebrate if Mr Mazey decided to return.

Me too, along with Pownall.
I can't see Andy Mazey backing out on Swinton though.

Probably not Alan, it's just wishful thinking on my part, Andy Mazey is still a Leyther through and through, along with his dad,and a diamond bloke as well, he's sorting Swinton out from the bottom, with very little to work with, he would do much better at Leigh, with bigger crowds, better stadium and facilities, you know it makes sense Andy. Make Charlie happy.

Andy wouldn't get involved with Leigh why Derek's there he doesnt like the bloke
Problem for Ryan was that he was very vocal in dictating where he wanted to play but when he was given the opportunities for Leigh, he just did not take them.
His HB performances away at Leeds, and particularly more so away at Widnes, resulting in a drubbing were both diabolical.
It's a shame as on his day, when he can be bothered , he has shown to be a very talented player.

Gunner I agree with you 100%,Andy M is a good friend of mine, my wish is once DB has closed the LSV door then maybe Andy would get involved. It would make my day as they say.

I can't argue there Harold, as Hampshire is a typical half back very vocal and cocky, maybe has a big opinion of himself,I have heard the stories about him wanting to play where he thought he should.
I would have liked to see him get more time at half back. He was an outstanding halfback, as a junior and he was a half back, under Shaun Wane at Wigan. He was then sent to Castleford, I thought, to get more experience of playing at half back, as he wasn't in the frame at Wigan. Daryl Powell chose to select him at wing and fullback, which we then decided were his positions. Interestingly Chris Chester sees him as a halfback, again.
In my opinion, once Ridyard's face didn't fit, I assumed Hampshire would get the nod there. Yes, he has/had a high opinion of himself, in that position, but again, I would have thought that confidence is an essential quality, especially at halfback.
