Ronnie and Reggie - We don't like Norfern "Numpty" Geezers with flat caps and we HATE whippets.

It needed something doing. The Super8s produces too many meaningless games and goes on way too long, as does the Middle8s although it does catch interest, and the Shield is a meaningless comp for losers, which is why spectators flock to it in their tens. They had better get someone like Barry Hearn marketing the game however, as I fear for the future of RL otherwise.

No mention of finances in the link is there - so how do we know how it affects the champ teams

And assuming we don't finish top :D I quite like the 5 team play off for promotion ( not in the link but has been announced since, along with the champ going to 14 teams)

£220k max Good night Vienna.

Link?? - there is the best part of £2 million going to the bottom 3 of the 8s, which is generally to champ teams, is that now to be spread amongst the rest of the champ or is the SL salary cap going up. Surely the money should go to the champ teams as part of the current Sky deal

And off topic, do you work nights or summat?? because you often post at very late times :?

Look on the bright side-the increase in teams to 14 will mean that if we get the mandatory 12 point deduction as per Bradford at least we might be able to get above Rochdale/Swinton next season!!

Ah but, wasn't the 12 point deduction in the days of 3 points for a win? Mind you, even an 8 point deduction would need as much catching up, at 2 for a win.

(In joke - no offence intended to anyone by the use of numbers 2,3,8 or 12! )

We gave ourselves a 10 point deduction at the start of this season.

It was only last season and Bradford only managed 6 wins and finished on zero points, with the two clubs them being Swinton and Oldham on 12 and 11 points in a 23 game season. Therefore I would estimate needing a net 14 points to stay up- this would require winning 13 out of the 27 games to be played.
