Saw that yesterday too, Charlie, and noticed the same former Leigh players considered not to have made the grade in a (this year) decent Wire squad. Yup, would have 'em back but think there'll be more Leythe & Leythabouts players next season and will take Atomic's line of making a virtue out of necessity. Feel more attached to local lads wearing the local shirt - that it is to be hoped more resembles a Leythe one next season.

I think we are in a minority B&B. I seem to remember my idea of wanting Leythers in the squad, earlier in the season, being pilloried by some. Tell you what though - you can guarantee that Leigh lads would show more pride in the shirt than some of this season's squad did!

Seem to recall an Orwellian quote stating that the definition of an idiot is a minority of one (Mish might confirm). Thanks for removing that stigma, Alan.

That's why a more traditional shirt should be preferred to a designer's orgasm!

For those snooker fans viewing in black & white, the grey is behind the grey. Those were the days - not!

So you don't think the likes of little Pete, Hutchison, Crookes, Thompson x2, etc showed pride playing for the club. The beginning was a a disaster admittedly but let's not doubt the way that team bonded after that. I may have shown more pride in the shirt being born and bred here, but I think your a bit out of order here

In fairness, Col, Alan only said "some of the squad".

Love it when people want to spend other peoples money

We will have a club next year , and i'll be buying a ST to watch them , be that a million pound squad or a fifty grand squad

Maybe, Col, maybe. My opinion is that a few of our new recruits showed an arrogance and lack of respect for the shirt, the Championship, the opposing clubs, our owner, our coaching team and the fans!! Our current coach is more diplomatic and says they 'under-estimated' some of the afore-mentioned!!!

I won't criticise individuals, publicly - they wore/wear the shirt and have my respect for doing so. I would seriously question whether they were'up for it' at the start of the season though. As for what happened after those first six matches? Well, some of the squad didn't figure many times during the rest of the season!

Not much being said about today's game, though probably a good thing, I said we would have to bring in a few new faces to compete, it's worse than that, we will have to bring in new faces to survive.

Next season we could be in freefall unless something happens,Widnes staying full time and our rivals moving forward,we will struggle next week to beat Dews away,I'm worried ,what happens next?
