Col, I agree that compared to the beginning of this season we will have to go backwards, the Money from the RL being vastly reduced, but we can make some sort of fist of the situation .We spent money very librally last season mainly on overseas signings, again it's obvious our belt will have to be tightened, but let's try to make signing for Leigh an attractive move not a negative one,a lot of Clubs are already planning for next season already. In our present state we would probably win 7 or 8 games next season out of the proposed 27, that in my mind would be relagation form,we have to get the crowds wanting to watch Leigh, yesterday's game wasn't a good advert.
It's been said we should go back to playing a team of Leigh players, no overseas players in an ideal world great, but we need quality players , fans can go and watch East or Miners ,for a team of Leigh players and save a fair few quid off the entrance money.
I've always said I'd do anything to help Leigh Centurions, and I stand by that, but help must start at the top, hopefully DB will reconsider his thoughts, and start the ball rolling. There is no quick fix, but we can't go into freefall, which will happen if we stay as we are .
I believe the ball is already well and truely rolling Charlie
Then you assume wrong Gubby,if you are who I think you are then I have had a few years on you following 'our lot' around, in that time it is not hard to make the observation I stated about Leigh RLFC, I never said I was fed up of it, but this season has most definatley delivered the biggest disapointment of the lot of them.
I agree with you there Harry. I guess some of that was down to the high expectations at the start, but this season has been a bitterly disappointing one for me too!

I really do hope your right Col,some have described this season as Fun though some folk paid to visit Cynthia Payne I could never see the attraction in that either. .
Had Jukes been sacked (as he truly should have been) at the end of last season for not achieving the Worlds lowest target ever set by Mr Beaumont of winning the MPG then we would be celebrating our return to SL by now !

There are dozens of ' ifs ' that had they occurred we'd be somewhere else , probably better than we currently are , and plenty that would be worse

Not for me, we had a pretty strong squad out v Batley and were taken to the cleaners. There was a poll on here on one point when Rowley left asking which is the next coach for Leigh.
I was shot down when Jukes got the job and told to give him 10 games. Paul Cooke arrived and suddenly Jukes is a hero. We got promoted. Cookey leaves and we end up with KC. The rest is history.
No point blaming one fella, when all including Purtill was involved.

I won't undermine your opinion Charlie, but surely the first step is new staff.

I'm sorry but u have to blame juksey and Cunningham because they were the ones that made the decisions, yes purtill and ando are on the coaching staff but they didn't have say on who came or who went and juksey changed the way we played as soon as Cunningham came in because he used to play attacking rugby but suddenly after 2 years in charge we started to play 5 drives and a kick and became a very boring team to watch

Quite right Atomic, everything you put in this post I would gladly echo, Purtill is not the man for the job for me, in this weeks match report he keeps moaning about attitude and how bad it is, is tgat not part of a coaches job to be a good psychologist as well as a tactician? Well he has prompted my attitude to give Dewsbury and Featherstone a miss.

Given our and the players current situation , I'm amazed we've done as well as we have over the last 6 games , maybe Kieron is just being too proffessional in expecting these players to be 100% , their and our future is essentially in ' flux ' ATM , ( like that word )
