Very true. I see they have immediately nailed down their younger crop with fulltime contracts.

Well that's one of the joys of Franchising that was at the time, they seem to bring a good few younger players through their academy up to the first team and need to be applauded for that.

However I would suggest - especially if they don't go straight back up - that any of them with real potential will be snapped up by Wire, Saints, Wigan etc

When these disgruntled Players have finished pursuing the Club through the Courts, I hope they'll spare a thought for us fans who bought Season Tickets and Match Tickets out of our hard earned Salaries (Pensions),
to see them massively underperform and get us relegated! or are they not to blame ?

Well I believe the £500k parachute payment has to be spent on players. Very wise move by Widnes to use it (I presume) to invest it in the younger players. They will have depth in squad whilst we are still looking to create one, before next season even starts.

Lots of lessons to be learned.

I totally agree Kirky. The demise certainly didn't come from the lack of support. I'll say it again, all except the faithful are to blame.

Why do people keep talking about the players like its ALL their fault?

The players do what they always do, if Leigh offer a contract of employment based on researching a player (watching videos, ringing agents & contacts within the game)then that is upto the club. Its not the players fault.

Because no one talks about the fans!!
Rugby League is fast becoming a Sky Programme and most of the players Salaries come from Sky's Funding and, where does Sky's funding come from? The fans subscriptions that's where so, who is the most important player in all this ?

It is a two way process. The players in return for being handsomely paid ( and you do know Leigh players were paid well over the going rate) are then expected to at least deliver on the field.

Players have to also accept some responsibility surely.
