A mysterious location in Yorkshire!
Signature
Sing a song of Yorkshire, from the Humber to the Tees
Of cricket, rugby, beer, of pudding and of cheese
I know no other county where the land is quite so fine
England's lovely county. And I'm proud to call it mine

Where shining purple heather stretches far across the moor
And the lapwing's cry above me takes the place of traffic roar
And peace comes drifting gently, there's no place I'd rather be
Than this land of hills and valleys, from the Pennines to the sea

So when I've done my roaming, and when my step grows slow
When heart and mind assure me that the time has come to go
Then let me rest in Yorkshire, for its there I want to lie
'Neath sun and wind and heather... and a gleaming Yorkshire sky

Slighly stolen from the Rhinos board but might be worth having on here:

Starting with the ground itself...

Plan of the stadium

Roadmap of the area

Parking at the ground

Official car parking is available at the stadium at a cost of £5 per car but there are also a number of ‘unofficial’ car parks ranging between £2 and £5.

The Gas Club has a small car park and has room for several coaches and charge £2 per car or £?? per coach. The Turnbridge WMC has a slightly larger car park which is free of charge but is a 10-15min away from the stadium.

The streets around the stadium are residential but are mostly unrestricted for on street parking other than the few streets closer to the stadium which are Permit Holder only. If you want to upset lots of local people who can't understand why you'd want to park outside their house or what on earth goes on on occasional Friday and Sunday afternoons across the river at the back of their garden then by all means use their street, otherwise don't.

Getting to the Galpharm Stadium

By Car
From M62 west - Exit M62 at J24, follow signs for Huddersfield Town Centre(A629). After approx. 2 miles follow the signs for the stadium turning left onto Castlegate ring road, turn left onto Leeds Road (A62), then follow the official car park signs.

By Rail
Huddersfield Railway Station is situated in St.Georges Square and is approximately ½ mile from the stadium. Buses and taxis available outside the station or alternatively, walking via Northumberland Street.

Walking to the Stadium
From Northumberland Street, cross the A62 into Leeds Road and then turn right into Gasworks Street at the roundabout. Continue into Stadium Way and the car park will soon be ahead of you on the right. The visitors section is at this end of the stadium - the Pink Link Stand.

Local pubs and restaurants

The Parish pub in Kirkgate is not too far from the station and known for live music.

The Kings Head is near the Head of Steam pub at the station. It is said to have a good selection of real ales.

Others include the Sportsman in St Johns Road, the Rat & Ratchet (slightly out of town on the A616) and the Ropewalk (behind the Galpharm Stadium).

For something after the match and for the young 'uns, "Tokyo Huddersfield" venue is a popular nightclub in Queen Street. Housed in a 19th century Grade Two listed building, the venue is split in four on Saturdays: Main Club, Bar, Basement Club and Terrace.

Alternatively the Rock Cafe on Ramsden Street. Open from 11.30am, you can buy snacks and hot food during the day or enjoy the bar and entertainment in the evening.

The Chilli Lounge in John William Street was awarded "Best Restaurant 2010" by Huddersfield Taste Trail and offers traditional Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine. It is open from 6pm.

Fast food fans can enjoy the usual array of restaurants and takeaways, most of which are located in the southern area of the town near the shopping arcades. However Pizza Hut has recently opened at the ground and is situated next to the Odeon Cinema

If you're planning to stay in Huddersfield for some time, the Odeon Cinema is behind the stadium in Bradley Mills Road.

Please feel free to add to this and hopefully within the next week we may have a complete guide!

Just want to add that parking in Huddersfield pay and display spots is only £1 pound after twelve on Sundays and plenty of spots around sports centre and on St Andrews Road within five ten minutes walk of stadium and town centre.

If you are planning on making a day of it in Huddersfield then I can massively recommend The Live Escape Huddersfield as something fun and unique to do before or after the game. You can booked through the website here www.theliveescape.co.uk

Anybody know if Gas Works Club is still open?
Reading that it permanenty shut down in 2020.
Was wondering if anybody took it on since end of lockdown?
