Time to clean house : Fri Apr 20, 2018 8:26 pm
I write this at half time 38 - 0 down. We seem to be in the kind of downward spiral I can only see ending in relegation. I have followed the giants for 25 years now and seen lots of ups and downs. Regardless I have always had optimism and a real sense of enjoyment watching them prior to this season even during the early super league years etc. This season however for the first time I am genuinely pessimistic and am simply not enjoying it. It’s like wading through treacle every week. Something is so wrong at the club. Some might say that any club would struggle with such an injury list and what can we expect? We have been busted as a squad for the last 2 and 1/2 seasons however and whilst this may well be a reason for such poor form I can’t help thinking it is a symptom of a badly run club. I hate to say that because I love Sir Ken but he needs to clean house. Since Brown left (and he had his faults) it has got incrementally worse season upon season. Whoever the new coach is will need to hope he can steer this group to survival and then look at making huge changes.
I have a lot of respect for most of the players in the squad and see what they bring but it is simply not working. Contracts will dictate much of what can happen but save for cudjoe, seb, jerry, Kruise, o’brien, and the youngsters I honestly would be happy to lose the lot of them and freshen the whole place up.
Not realistic, is not a solution but bloody hell, this is heartbreaking!

It’s heartbreaking- and even when we only won 4 game all season and finished bottom year after year it didn’t feel like this. Then the players on the pitch didn’t get the stick they get now because they gave it a dig every week, and would come and chat in the bar after and you felt like you were in it together. Now you feel removed from it all.
My kids don’t want to go- my lad won’t even wear a giants shirt to training anymore because he’s embarrassed.

We are in a very sad state jools, and i know you are one who looks for the positives, but if even the likes of yourself feel as you do then that's a fair indication of how bad things are.

Sadly there is nothing we as fans can do other than keep turning up ,coming away spitting feathers and praying for a miracle, and that's what it's going to take.

If Mr Davy thinks he has got things right and he can eventually sort it by keep changing coaches , we have to just plod on, If an he ever does get it right there may be no-one going down there,
I feel like most people i speak too, I feel that the problems start higher up than the coach and the players, If you don't get that right first you will just be wasting your time on the field, Thats how i see it anyway.
I want whoever our coach turns out to be, to do well and we have seen a couple of coaches do well, but sadly it doesn't last because the problems don't start there. What comes across from the club is " we are lucky to be where we are " and IF that is the thinking then we would be better in the Championship where we would hopefully be able to compete, At the moment that looks to be where we are headed.
