Dog, if you want to get into a widdling contest and living in the past. Read your own post, reference to previous two grounds reference to previous 5 coaches, stated our league position over an 8 year period, do I need to go on?
You spend your whole time telling us over and over why in your opinion we are where we are. Not really sure why, you can't change it, and more to the point me you wire quin or anyone else on here can actually do anything about it!
As for you question, how much was going into the club from mr lenegan? How much goes into keeping wakey/Hudds/KR afloat? Sort of stuff you seem to know?
The point! Unless you can come up with the funding to keep the club going then you have to accept the decisions of those that can.

What has all of this cr*p got to do with Matt Davies this board has gone back to what it was a one man's gripe against the Broncos owner.

It has got something to do with the signing of Davies, as someone who wasn't good enough two months ago now becomes our back up half. Thats how the connection between Davies and Hughes comes in.

His signing is a shocker and the only one we've seen since Wardy took over.

Re: Matt Davies : Sat Dec 02, 2017 12:00 pm
There has been a lot of talk about how much money DH is putting into the club and how much the club generates! I don't know the answer to this q but how much does it cost to run a club like KR, Leigh, wakey, Hudds????? Clubs that get arguably the smaller crowds in SL.
As a club broncos are limited by what can be realistically funded! Bradford are a prime example of what happens if you spend outside your means.
So the choices, the club recruits within its means with the income it has at the moment. The club asks DH to dig deep to shell out more, doubt that will happen.
Difficulty is how do you get new money? You can't call it an investment as whoever comes in is not going to get anything back.
Maybe with Toronto NY etc etc etc RL is on the cusp of something new! Will that generate enough interest to get new money in to the English game? The RFU have just announced a massive financial investment in there game so money for sport is about.

So is signing Matt such a shock.
What did we think when we first signed the likes of Dixon, lms, walker, all local lads given the chance, maybe wards sees summat in him hendo didn't, all we can do is wait and see.

Exactly.

Hull FC released Chris Green for not being good enough. He went back amateur before returning to the club and winning 2 Challenge Cup Finals on the bounce. I appreciate the gap was bigger than Davies but my point is different coaches see different things.

If Wardy rate Davies then why not resign him. Hendo has gone and whatever he thought of players means nothing now.

Henderson going doesn't bother me. He went as far as he could and is now an asst which will be better for him just taking coaching sessions

I think what I'm saying is we lost the Frog and Ackers in 2 critical positions. Currently all we have done is bring in a kid rejected 2 months ago to replace them. It seems like a statement of where we are at.

JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

So let's ignore the 2017 coach of the years opinion and instead wait and see what an average youth coach can do.......YEAH, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG HERE

Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.

Really. Perhaps another perspective is we had enough halves and he was being released as there was not space to fund his position when cover or just personnel in other positions was more important. Suddenly Barthau and the other one leave so keeping Davies is more appropriate to the balance of the squad.

While I may agree that he is not the full package at present, it doesn’t mean the club would not have preferred to keep him in the first place.

If this is correct then it means we are spending the full cap. If we are spending the full cap, then why in gods name are we not employing a proven coach? No disrespect to Ward, but other than the fluke promotion of Henderson, our track record at employing coaches since Mac has been the fundamental cause of our demise. It seems the only ability the coach of the Broncos needs is the ability to say "yes' to the owner.

This thread is about the Matt Davies signing and the subsequent opinion of some fans that this is not a good thing. The fact that the owner is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for the current scenario at the club makes his track record a valid topic within this thread. Instead of whining, why not simply contribute with an alternate point of view, or ignore the thread....it's how forums work!

Dog, change the record.
We know! Fact DH is the club owner neither me or you can change that.
Wardy is the coach neither me or you can change it
Matt is back on the books for good or bad neither me and you can change it.
Everything is DH fault yep we get it! Nowt any of us can do about it.
