Whey hey I got a prediction right. Good away win at a difficult venue in what I imagine were challenging conditions, pleased with that result, they obviously stayed off the yellow snow. Icing on the cake is the result up in cumbria as well, cracking result for barrow.

Be interested to hear the feedback from those that were there

£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

I suspect any over confidence in that side is now well and truly gone......now all we need is to get them under the cap and playing home and away on alternate weeks and we'd have a level playing field!!

Re: Dewsbury next : Sun Feb 11, 2018 11:17 pm
Just got back from Dewsbury where it was really cold and snowed on and off.
We played into a strong wind in the first half. The pitch was really heavy and got progressively worse. Our first try was rather dubious. We were at the other end of the pitch so did not have a good view, but it looked wrong to us.
The wind fell away in the second half so this made it easier for Dewsbury in attack. They pressed but we were magnificent in defense the players putting their bodies on the line. To have nilled them shows how hard they worked.
Our second try came from us putting pressure on them and Jarrod charging down a ball, it stuck in the boggy pitch but he managed to kick it, collect it and score in the corner. He missed the conversion. Just on full-time we lost the ball then Dewsbury messed up and we awarded a penalty which Jarrod scored and made it 12-0.
Positives were our defense and never say die attitude.
Negatives, our loan hooker was awful, could not catch the ball, passed to nobody several times. We may have a few injuries. Cunningham for one.

Our loan hooker was picked out for praise on club website for "His darting runs and defence"....You say his passing was not up to scratch but are the club right in their estimation of events??

He failed to impress any of our small band at yesterdays game.
Okay due to the conditions there were a lot of errors from both sides, It was a game with few daring runs, certainly through the middle.
It was a bit of a slog really, just a game of playing out your sets. However, defence wise the whole team to a man were excellent.
What the club are saying is probably for Widnes benefit.

Sounds similar to our last visit there, lots of passes went to ground mainly due to guys not taking strength of the wind into account. Good to hear the boys manned up in defence.
The write up I saw picked out Walker for his defensive efforts as well, believe Rams were held up over the line several times, mainly down to walkers effort, is that what you saw?

Spot on about Alex Walker, he was my man of the match. He really never put a foot wrong.
I am sure we held them up over the line at least half a dozen times, possibly more. The game was on the edge right up until Jarrod scored. Prior to that try I had in the back of my mind that they would get a try and then be given a penalty and we would leave with nothing. It was that type of game. Once Jarrod scored though you could not see them scoring twice.
