Despite my Grandad being arguably one of the most obsessed Wigan followers of all time, his favourite winger was always TVV.

Brought up on stories of his speed and try scoring ability.

RIP.

I am lucky enough to have sen him play. One of the greatest wingers of that era of many great wingers. R.I.P. and sincere condolences to all his family and friends.

Saw him play ,together with Boston the two best wingers i have seen or ever will see.Too young to see Brian Bevan but he was in the same league.RIP Tom you left happy memories all over Rugby League land

Boston, Bevan and Vollenhoven. Desperately sad that the game doesn't attract players from these backgrounds anymore. RIP.
