Credit where it’s due to Davies. He’s a good player now but assuming he stays with us he’ll be the top British winger in the game soon.

I’m massively disappointed in him since he returned. There’s nothing ‘flying winger’ about him at the moment. They showed the slow motion sidestep he did and to be honest Liam Watts showed better footwork!

There’s something not right with him that’s for sure maybe we fans have rose tinted specs on regarding him I don’t know to be honest.

Bateman to right centre next week. Sarge was poor. Burgess - all this talk of him wanting to go back to the NRL, let him go if he doesn’t want to play for us looks disinterested.

Didnt enjoy that in all honesty. Even when the full first team was on it didnt look like our heads were in it. Ended up as a bit of a non event.

Did admire our ability to defend so many back to back sets in the 2nd half.

Terrified any time the ball goes anywhere near Sarginson.

Joe Burgess's name keeps coming up as one of those who are looking for a contract in Australia.

If that's true, all I can say is good luck. He's going to need it to attract any interest at all outside the Aussie amateur leagues.

Burgess needs drop some weight. He was bulked up in the NRL but he’s doesn’t need be that big over here. He looks slow and he’s always been error riddled anyway.

Overall today just felt pretty pointless. I’ve been all for this trip but as soon as Souths named a mix and match side, we should’ve done the same and at least let the run on team build up some combinations. It was just a mess out there with players on and off and on again.

I really don't get the Bateman to centre calls - he offers nothing other than reasonable defense, in the world cup he created nothing and offered no attacking threat what so ever. If we have no one better then as a club we are failing massively. Bateman is a second row - that is where he should be.

Not ideal by any means but you know he wont let someone run straight through him like Sarginson did today.

Im not knocking Sarge as such, I actually feel for him - he just looks completely devoid of confidence.

He made well over 100m in every game in the World Cup. He isn’t a traditional centre but he’s causes problems there (although with a better sense of the options around him he could use the space better) and does a job.

I stuck up for Sarginson last week and will again. I’m sure he’ll improve but my god he’ll need to because that was a pretty torrid first 20 minutes for him. He’s coming back from a serious injury and I recall him holding his shoulder at Leigh so hopefully he’s trying to get some confidence back in it.
