Martin Tyler : Mon Feb 19, 2018 11:38 pm
Just watching the Latics V Man City. At the start of the game, Tyler said the pitch not up to the standard the City players are used to. He then said, “Wigan do share their ground with the Rugby League team”.

If the pitch is carved up maybe they shouldn’t water it at halftime.

I was at the game tonight and the pitch is poor and we joked that it would be blamed on the rugby.

No surprises then

the pitch probably stopped a few goals last night - probably the MOM for the Latics

No trees were harmed during the creation of this post.
However, a number of electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

I agree with Tyler......

How can such a precious game, requiring immaculate, bowling-green-esque conditions, be expected to be played a mere 6 months (and a day) after a thuggish, pitch-wrecking game of rugby league?

The grounds staff should be given the freedom of Wigan for getting the pitch in to even a vaguely playable state in such a short time.

The hundreds of fans that invaded the pitch at full time wont have helped either.

But in the eyes of the Southern Media and a few Neanderthals that frequent Latics' Boards, it will be all the egg chasers fault after they ruin the pitch on 2 March.

TBH they might have squashed a few of them divots, and some of the Latics fans looked pretty hefty
