I know little of his coaching career or how he is regarded as a coach and if he has a reputation of improving players then fine but I think just because he was a top half back does not mean he's going to transform Williams (and Powell's) game. He's got to be a top coach to do this.

Didn't Lam start his coaching career with us? Thought he was the U21s coach with Wane as U18s coach.
They then revised this with Lam as head coach of U21s and U18s with Wane as asst to both teams (squads).
He then left for the NRL.

Fair enough. We need a change of direction and a coach who can improve players instead of us having to watch them make the same mistakes week in, week out.

Who is Lam currently coaching (or assistant to)? Wikipedia implies he's been out of the game since 2012 so surely that can't be right.
