Youve failed to answer my perfectly valid question. What if Lam makes us world beaters and we destroy every team put in front of us and he expresses a desire to stay as head coach?.

This question was raised and answered at the press conference. IL stated that if Lam was successful at Wigan in 2019 then it would look fantastic on his CV and he would have no shortage of offers from the NRL clubs.

Personally I think he may stay on as assistant to Edwards in 2020 for twelve months should there be no NRL offer.

I thought he was going back to the Roosters. Perhaps I misunderstood or maybe never read it in the first place.

I dont think that will happen. Most people seem to accept that next year is just a gamble/waiting game kind of year and unless we end up fighting a relegation battle i think people will be more patient to wait for what is being billed as the big prize in Edwards. Im actually opposite, i think Lam could surprise people and turn us into a lethal attacking machine. Im actually more concerned about Edwards ability than Lam simply because Edwards has been out of the game for so long. No matter how good he has been in RU, RU is simply not RL and the game has changed so much.

Shaun Edwards : Wed Jan 16, 2019 10:21 am
Worrying final paragraph to this Shaun Edwards interview in the South Wales Argus today where he refers to his accession to the Wigan hot seat as "an option" and "you just never know what's around the corner" and hints he wouldn't take the job if Adrian Lam does well this season..

If Lammy came in and won the lot I'd be more than happy for him to continue.

It is a little disconcerting that he has made those comments but the agreement has always been that Lam goes back to the NRL at the end of 2019 - no matter what, something which all parties said.

I fully expect Shaun Edwards to be Head Coach in 2020. Anything other than that would be a complete betrayal IMHO.

That’s a very pointed comment but an honest one by Shaun,if Lam does really well why upset things again,I’d say Edwards will come but I don’t think it’s as cut and dried as fans are led to believe and there is scope for him to step aside and allow Lam to continue

That is not true actually. There were lots of hints about Lam staying on in some capacity, I seem to recall Radlinksi saying as much in an interview after they were announced.

The club need to nip this in the bud.
