I think it`s pretty much common knowledge in the public domain that there was *were* a lot more freebies given out than what should have been over those few years.

Nothing published bud so could all be one vicious rumour? :?:

- Corporate full : excellent work by club
- Despite having to park in Agbrigg, walk through dog mess covered streets and alleyways, stand in mostly uncovered area the away support is good : Leeds, Hull, Wigan, Saints, Cas visit us in good numbers, hopefully Hull KR will bring strong numbers, Widnes and Hudds have been OK. It is difficult to see how the club can do anything to encourage awat teams to visit BV. Its a bit of a lottery depending when and what time matches are scheduled.
- Think season tickets may be up this season, so those sales are rightly shown in match day numbers. The reality is that we seem to be only able attract approx 2500 Wakey folk to turn up to games. Add to that the 500 in corporate and the no show season ticket holders plus away support and that is it. I simply dont know what more the club can do both on and off the field to get the people of Wakefield to watch the team live. The product on the field is good, the cost for first class sport is excellent, the work been done in the community, schools etc is first class.

Thats another reason why I think we should move out of Wakefield as I think the club would be better appreciated outside of Wakefield.

Good afternoon wrencat,

Valid point, i don`t think Belle Vue was much fuller in 2012 and 13 than it was last season in all fairness, i think the fact that the licensing system was around in the Glover era says it all, my guess is that attendance figures were inflated around this time in an attempt to meet essential criteria for average attendance.

Indeed, we were striving for 10,000 "memberships", which was made up from attendances and IIRC 1873 members and on that basis,we will have made it very close to the 10,000 figure.
All water under the bridge now and we certainly appear to be in a far better state now, both on and off the field.
If only the ground situation was sorted..........................

it seemed to have been better attended for me and 2012 I seem to remember mor kids attending,
Free tickets I have no idea but many seemed to have a pint and a burger to hand.
Promotions seem a little thin on the ground of lately but for me its better to attend a game with a better atmosphere .

It was a joke, 1500 free tickets, another 1000 photocopied free tickets, zero security checks on tickets , plus another several 100 people simply walking round the back of Cats bar and straight into the ground and then as everyone else is saying the crowd figures given out were simply unbelievable and we wonder why it went bust in 18 months. When Glover walked there was nothing in the bank, debts of a million plus, CCJ`s and winding up petitions coming out of our ears, Hospice not given their money, training facilities not paid for, every bus company in Yorkshire on stop etc etc.

I remember being offered photocopied tickets in the Ridings for a tenner. They certainly didn't seem to be Wakefield Trinity staff members...

Slightly over exaggerated as usual but it's not great I agree.

Re: Attendance : Tue Feb 20, 2018 7:02 pm
Let's hope we can manage a similar increase this year to last season, which was about 5300, 500 up on the previous year. Ateotd we've played one game on a freezing Thursday night, which is renowned for being poor for some people to attend, against Salford on Sky. Yes, it would be nice if the attendance was more but let's see where we are as the season progresses.

Slightly,:) , I don't know where he gets only 2500k Wakey fans from or 3k with corporate. I certainly didn't see nearly 1500k Salford fans the other day. Tbh I didn't see 100.
