Alcohol In Stadiums : Wed Apr 25, 2018 7:31 am
Trying to pick a few brains on here, as I am just about to start a project in my new job.

A while ago there was a thread about the quality of beer in stadiums, and a lot of the discussion wasn't so much what types of beer were on offer, but as much as anything, it was down to how well the beer was managed, even down to line cleaning.

Can anyone remember when this was, or as to what it was called, as it would be good to read some of the comments before I start.

Alcoholic and hot beverages within sports stadiums, both on the terraces and on the corporate side can be massive, which is something my new company are quite interested in.

I remember the thread but the search function on here is rubbish. It never gives any search results!

It's all rubbish, apart from The Trinity Ales at Belle Vue.
Every ground that we have visited has "electric" ale in plastic "glasses", with the exception of Fev, which at least was hand pulled and if you smile at the bar staff, they even give you a proper glass. :DRUNK:

Thanks for that Wrencat, and yes I agree.

My company make and supply the cleaning products used to clean out the beer lines, and looking at their customer base, haven't really tapped into supplying stadiums etc, up to now.

They are also starting out with hot beverage cleaning systems.

There are probably about 250 sporting venues throughout the UK, that could potentially be tapped into.

Just thought it might be worth a read if I could find it, before I start working on it

I'm afraid plastics is all about health and safety and they do leave an after taste even to our beers a the time when we sold them there, there is a better hard plastic that don't leave a taste but the cost hell of a lot more.

I would of loved to continue down at the stadium but the body has told me different,
shame as I loved doing it.

Belle Vue Blonde, Legend and Hop and under will live on as a recipe at the new brewery at Morley call Cooper Hill Brewery, we are at present in the process of training them so they use these as their core beers.

getting it to the north stand was a task in its self, each match day I had to have prepared at lease 3 cask for serving which meant having 4 ready and stood wait for it to be re-racked on the day so when I took it up it was as clear a bell.
I installed the pump and cleaned the lines.
serving up to 200 pints in the game was hard work but it then it didn't finish there as I took the pump back to the brewery to flushed and cleaned it for the next game.

IF the Club was interested in putting hand pulled on within the club house on rack they could do so but it is harder to look after than keg and has a shorter shelf life.

Give Barmaster a call as that's where the brewery is, they also supply pubs with cleaning products so you could have a link to more outlets.

The only thing that matters is your health mate and whilst we all enjoyed your beer, we'll manage with the yellow fizzy stuff instead.
Totally understand the reasons for plastic, especially outdoors and with so many folk about.
Most sports clubs insist on plastic for anyone taking their drink outside although, strangely, many of them allow you to take a glass bottle, albeit, they dont break as easily.

Look after yourself mate and hope to see you down at BV or around the village.
