I've watched Trinity since the early 1960's and I've seen some cracking wingers at BV, the likes of the great South African Jan Prinsloo, Fred Smith, Gert Coetzer (another South African), Ken Hirst, and such as Keith Slater and David Smith a few years after. All these guys were class wingers who scored some spectacular tries in their era. RL is a much different game now but I have to say it is an absolute privilege to watch some of Tom's tries and those tonight were out of the top drawer. Tom would fit into any Trinity team I have seen and he fast becoming my favorite ever winger.
He made my night Snowie, I had to go for a couple of pints to celebrate. tried to tell my other half what he had done but I might as well have talked to the door. They really don't understand do they?
How good is Tom? I was happy with the form he was showing earlier in the season after such a terrible injury, but to come back even better than he was before (IMO) is incredible. Now joint top scorer in Superleague with a good chance of claiming top spot! Not checked but I am pretty certain we have never had a top try scorer in SL.
Surely he must get his chance in the next England test?

Was really worried when he went down right at the end of the game...it really looked as though he had broken his leg so it was a huge relief when he actually stood up and was able to walk off and it was brilliant to see so many fans wait for him to do so and applaud him. He really seemed to appreciate that.
Level top try scorer now. Out of curiosity, when was the last time a Wakefield player topped the try charts in the top flight. One for the historians out there
I’ve watched Trinity for over 30 years. In that time we’ve had a few genuinely great players. However what we have not had is wow factor players - the sort you can’t wait to see get the ball - the ones you believe will do something special.
The only ones who come close are Solomona, Henry Paul and Nigel Wright imho and maybe Broughy.
That said only Solomona was International quality when with us and owned his position. TJ is getting ever closer and in a fair world will get a crack at the England team at which point all going well we have a homegrown super star on our books.
I think you need to go back to Toppo for the last time that happened - great days.
