Box survives vote of no confidence

Yesterday by the skin of his teeth.

Debate concerned Wakefield MDC performance over children in care.

Shows that even his supporters can be split if there is enough newspaper coverage.

We need the stadium issue in the papers on a more regular basis and to canvass our councillors for support. Those not giving it including our 3 sitting MP's should not expect our support when they ask for it at election time.

Can we publish a table of councillors and MP's who have supported the objection to the latest Yorkcourt build plan.

Just going to post this myself. Voting done bt a show of hands and not a secret ballot. Wonder if result would have been different with a secret ballot.

Well now is the time to get this guy pushed out, will it help Trinity, who knows, but we might get a more worthwhile person to have as the leader of the council than this snake.

Must admit I'm surprised by this, I always assumed that he was pretty much untouchable. As you say, a secret ballot may have turned out differently!

This must have put him on notice to up his game!

Maybe he will be pressured into some kind of action?

I won't hold my breath.

More likely he'll organise his own version of Night of the long knives.

Correct.

The man is so arrogant he will just sneer at those who voted against him.

For those that did they have my respect and are true Labour people who do have some moral backbone.

For those who did not have the guts to stand up to him, they are just as bad as he is.

Wakey Trin or anyone else for that matter can you give me a link to the details of this vote. It would be helpful if we could find out who voted against Box.

I was surprised by this too.
Certainly a statement that he's under pressure.

Unfortunately the Express report said that the numbers who voted and who voted for and against was not disclosed.
