To many props!!!

I jest but for as long as I can remember the perpetual moan on here has been the relentlessly boring 'not enough props'.

Well surely that one is now put to bed.

First choice experienced SL props

Fifita
Kopczak
England
Huby
PP
King
Hirst

Up and coming

Balwinson
Gwaze

Can play there

Arona
Anakin

That's 9! props plus 2 emegency props - surely no club in SL can better that?

We'll need them if we are running an A Team.

But our good play is very much built round our props and I'm glad we've invested in that area.

I find it bizarre that Baldwinson is still 24 and only just turned! Are we going to see him out on loan this year or will he feature in the side?

The good thing is, we've also got the backs who can thrive off the domination of a good pack! Good times ahead I think!

Based on squad numbers not personal preference it seems to go like this.

Backs

Hampshire
BJB
Lyne
Tupou
Johnstone

Reserves Jowitt, Arundel, Reynolds, Hooley, Kershaw.

Halves

Brough
Miller

Reserves Hampshire, Reynolds.

Back row

Ashurst
Kirmond
Arona

Reserves Batchelor, Horo, Anakin, Crowther, PP, King, Wray, Aidin

Hookers

Woody
Randell

Props I’ve already done

May have missed someone???

Looks fairly solid to me - at the end of the day you can’t cover every scenario but we’ve are in with a shout.

It's rare especially at Wakefield, for a plan to have been put into action and it's actually come to fruition. I remember when CC first came and he spoke about needing more quality and depth. Since then MC and CC have done an absolutely amazing job bringing in talented players but more importantly keeping all the quality that has developed here the last few years.

That squad is easily the best I can remember at Trinity.

I think Kopczak is a really smart signing from the club, he brings something a little different to an already strong pack. He plays big minutes and just keeps on going. Although he is not a world beater, I have never seen him have a bad game and that alone speaks volumes.

It`s a real difficult team to pick for Chester when he has a full outfit to pick from (Granted that may not be very often in this game!).

I think he will go with Fifita, PP, Kops - I just cant make my mind up who would take that 4th front row spot out of England and Huby when all fit.

you can never have enough props, these are the guys that build the foundation around a good team that allow the backs to have the freedom to play and express them selves

without putting to much pressure on the team I expect an exceptional year from them :)

I'm interested to see where King fits in.
He would have come if he thought he was 5+ choice prop...... But he has stiff competition.

I like the look of our pack a lot more now we have signed King and Kopczak. Mobile props that have the ability to do long minutes and they don't shirk the physical side of the game. I personally see Huby as back up, he'll do a job when called upon but he lacks the mobility and minutes those two have and the lad has had a fair few injuries to contend with. We need to look after his body this year.
