I have been told that Vagana will come off quota because he played jnr rugby in Bradford & has proof so under RL rules, we will be level or up to full quota, the club is aware !!!

I think he must be on a 1 year deal. I’m sure I’ve seen posted on forums he is.

If he isn’t then I’m sure the decision will be made to cut one after we get closer to end of season if necessary. Absolutely nothing to bother about.

We certainly do need to find quality in our domestic signings.

Hopefully that is the case. I like the look of Boothroyd if he is to stay. If not then it could give scope to recruit.

If Vagana is off quota then I think its between Bain or Boothroyd as I suspect we might want at least one big name Aussie signing.

However I think it’s always in the pack where promoted clubs suffer, so there is a huge logic on concentrating most of your quota on forwards, especially when they have had a season together.

I don’t care what anyone says, it’s still forwards who win games.

I certainly think they are a big part in winning games.

Bain is on a 2 year deal so that’s pretty much it for our quota unless Vagana comes off then it may allow one spot if Boothroyd is on a 1 year or we nagotiate a release.

If we had a big player to come in it would be a quality second row or centre for me who could do some damage on the edges. Though I absolutely would take a quality halfback.

Think we already have the makings of a good SL pack in Rodwell, Atoni v2, Uele and Vagana who are all except Atoni hitting mid 20s. We could do with finding another quality English prop unless Bowden is doing another year.

It’s a bit hard to guage what we need atm with so many gaps and needs to fill but ultimately we need a handful of quality SL players to add to what we have (from the top half of SL) and a couple of promising younger lads to develop.

Just been and looked at a fair number of articles when he signed and not one mentioned the length of the contract.
Knowing that we're more than likely going back into SL in 2025, I'd be surprised if Powell's signed all these young Aussies on 2-year deals, no matter how promising they look. Surely he's left a bit of room on the quota for next season.

Think they’re all signed to 2 years other than Boothroyd so it looks exactly like we’ve not left room. That said I’m happy with the look of all our imports so far and I’m looking forward to seeing Bain who looks more of a ball handling 13 with good hands. His style reminds me of Westerman. Watching reserves he was moving up to the line and passing like Westerman does.

There is a very easy way round this, we just aren't used to it because we have never had the cash or the players in the past.

Considering Bain and especially Boothroyd are unlikely to see that much action this season, then why not put them out on a season long loan next year to a decent Championship team. That way you free up two quota spots, still keep them on board and developing, and still have them available in an emergency, one that means you have been able to de-register a player.

Think that works

I certainly don't remember Isaiah playing junior rugby with us at Bradford. His Dad finished playing for us in 2008 when Isaiah was seven years old and the family went home. According all the online records he played NSW Cup for the Warriors in 2020 and Jersey Flegg in 2018 (when he was 17) and there's no other records of him playing anywhere else.

Maybe he's using his Dad's records

Tend to agree with you, but this is RL and you never know.
