I don't have a problem with him letting the ball bounce if he's not certain to get to it. What he does with the ball is of much more importance, and that's an area that he offers more in than the vast majority.
3 times tonight he peed himself over a high/bouncing ball.
Guess that makes him a great fullback.

Also he wasn't certain to get it more that once because his positioning was awful.
And its not the first time is it

It depends what you want. You seem to want a safe, solid fullback who offers little going forwards. That's what England have gone with for the past decade or so. In comparison, the antipodeans prefer someone that, whilst they might make more mistakes, will offer a lot more with the ball. It's worked for them and I think we've seen enough from that style of player in SL to show that it is a much more effective option.

No, it's not the first time his positioning has been poor. It's the major weakness in his game. It's not something I'm too bothered about though, as long as he gets to the ball. Tonight he didn't a couple of times and that's something that needs to - and will - improve as he regains match fitness.

Motu looked rusty but also looked class, god we have missed this bloke and I would add Raynor to that, we has much more enthusiasm coming out of our own half.

To reconcile respect with practicality, what is the optimum speed for a hearse?

spot on there and with berrigan (at 7) and houghton on the pitch together we have 2 players great at taking advantage of their quick ptb. This could really get us on the front foot which can allow us to be more adventurous in attack.

So he makes mistakes that cause tries but he may make a few.

No, he generally doesn't make mistakes that lead to tries. And he didn't tonight either.

Sorry but did we have one quick ptb tonight? It must have been when I was queueing for a drink
