It depends what you want. You seem to want a safe, solid fullback who offers little going forwards. That's what England have gone with for the past decade or so. In comparison, the antipodeans prefer someone that, whilst they might make more mistakes, will offer a lot more with the ball. It's worked for them and I think we've seen enough from that style of player in SL to show that it is a much more effective option.

No, it's not the first time his positioning has been poor. It's the major weakness in his game. It's not something I'm too bothered about though, as long as he gets to the ball. Tonight he didn't a couple of times and that's something that needs to - and will - improve as he regains match fitness.
