On Kelly, not the end of the world if out short term, will allow Connor to play as a pivot. Was quality today, I also feel that Miloudi should be in the 17, such a talent.

Talanoa is out anyway so looks like Miloudi will get the no 5 shirt for HKR match unless Radford decides to use Griffin on the wing

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Not a bad game all told to be honest. Some decent performances in general. Impressed with some of the younger players who showed up well. Jordan Thompson was strong and carried the ball in well. Kelly seemed to get bit of a stinger on his left shoulder. Masi & Nzonghou looked good up until he went off injured along with Lane & Langtree. Litten again didn’t disappoint when in as he brings plenty of speed and urgency at ptb.
Fash needs to show more for me.
All in all it wasn’t a bad run out.

Think Dawson will be our starting winger along with Faraimo judging by what Radford has said on the FC site.

Radford also gave praise for new-signing Matty Dawson-Jones, who made his club debut against Trintiy.

“Matty also really impressed me and he has all pre-season. He’ll be big for us going forward.”

Will Sneyd be fit for the start of the season? If not we'll probably go

Shaul
Faraimo
Griffin
Carlos
Dawson
Kelly
Connor

With Miloudi on the bench to give us some cover.

Maybe we could swap Tala for Seb at Hudds, if they are still trying to shift him on?

Thanks for updates. Sounded as though FC with a few young uns in did well, winning till late on and unfortunate not to score through Cox. Does anyone think he’ll get a contract? Hope the players off injured were just precautionary.

Yes i wish we could sign Seb.We really are missing impact off the bench
Dont get the glowing praise by Radford for Matty Dawson.Didnt do much in the game worth mentioning.
Would rather see Miloudi given a run on the wing

Re: Wakefield tomorrow : Sun Jan 13, 2019 6:18 pm
enjoyable game, nothing in it in the first half - we had a really good spell, then they had a really good spell. the strong wind caused both teams problems at first with a lot of passes and kicks going astray. halftime kelly, taylor and houghton all done for the day. started second half with only shaul and connor as out and out first teamers, the rest from what will most likelt be the reserve team. However they dominated the half albeit playing with the strong breeze. connor was pretty classy throughout - played in his dinner jacket really. Wakefield who also played some fringe players in the second half brought back a few of their big guns and won the match with a superb breakaway try.

FC did pretty well with the team they had, perhaps worrying again though was the amount of holding down they did, a lack of game management especially when 12 points up in the first half and not finishing them off when well placed in the last quarter. Would hope some of these faults sort themselves out next week.

as well as the obvious Connor, Lane and Thompson stood out with their hard work and faraimo casused problems in his cameo.

Wakefield look like they could be a decent side again though they probably need to keep their first 17 pretty much fit all season (the same problem for a lot of sides to be fair)

and as usual hicks was far too busy getting himself noticed rather than allowing the sides to play a bit more rugby which both were willing to do

To be honest, was Radford going to say anything else about him? Being your top signing for 2019?

Hicks was an booty to both teams - if that level of pedantic reffing is what we have to look forward to this seaon then the game is doomed as a spectacle.

Thought Connor looked really good with ball in hand and looks like he has been working on his kicking, kicked a fantastic 40/20 and was very unlucky to miss out on 2 other 40/20 attempts.
