Read the article from Wilkin, he seems to have just picked two random assistant coaches.

Same with the total RL article, says he wants to come to Hull, but no quote or reference about him coming.

Thank some journalists getting frustrated with no names, so just picking anyone.

Still hope for Briers, wonder how his interview went.

But have a feeling it will be Mcguire, think he fits what Myler is after.

I'd be disappointed IF it was Danny Maguire.
Chad Randall, another signing from Canterbury, or maybe Craig Sandercock? he's also at Canterbury , in charge of the women's team.

Undecided on Mcguire, highly respected, did well at Rovers, particularly when Head coach for a small period. Also need someone to sort out our attacking structure.

Maybe too inexperienced for a job of this size.

As time moves on I'm starting to accept the likes of Briers and the other preferred candidates are beyond our reach.

Sadly me too, job is too much of a risk for those who are in a good position. I could totally understand why Briers would turn us down.

The desperation for announcements is amusing on here. This is one of the biggest appointments that the club has ever had to make, and the club (and the prospective coach) are expected to come to that decision in a matter of days since Rowley turned the role down?

It's not just a case of accepting a role - it is deciding the make up of the back room staff, whether that coach wants his own or happy with the existing staff, relocation, kids schools, wife's job. There is so much, and the above would be added to if the next appointment is currently in a role. The club are working on it, stop putting timescales on everything.

If Briers and McDermott have decided to stay in Aus, and the club are keen on a British coach it leaves a small pool of people.

We've missed out on Rowley. The othe r SL head coaches are pretty much out of reach.

Leaves is looking at either Championship coaches, SL assistants or Grix.

Personally don't think Grix will get the job. I'm peddling the McGuire theory

I do worry about the optics of it though. Ex Leeds Legend and Rovers fan favourite. People will turn on him pretty quickly.

Is he ready to be a head coach now? Would he even come here with his links to previous clubs?
Feels like we're fishing in a small pond

The silence is a good sign for me. Myler obviously has a process he’s following.
He’s better placed than Adam to get the right person in.
It’s not just about one person either.
Craig Bellamy would struggle to get anything out this club with the lack of support staff in place. Hopefully that’s gets sorted as well.

As Ian Watson says “trust in the process “

McGuire would be a strange one as he turned down the Cas head coach job , I would hazard a guess the Hull job would be a far bigger task than the Cas job in rebuilding the entire first team .
