Highlights of an evening in Warrington yesterday ...
Purity Pure UBU 4.5%, an often enjoyed amber ale, in the Friar Penketh.
Big Bog Brewing Company Swampy 4.7%, my favourite of the evening and a premium dark ruby ale with fruit and toffee flavours, in the Looking Glass. A new one to me.
Caledonian Edinburgh Castle 4.1%, brown in colour, with malt, caramel and fruit flavours, in the White Hart. Only once previously tasted, in Hereford in May
Another couple of enjoyable pints in the Lower Angel, Warrington last night, one new to me, the other an old favourite.
Cross Bay Witching Hour 4.4%, a crystal wheat beer. Clear golden in colour and less hoppy than I anticipated with a sufficient malty taste to get a tick from me.
Moorhouses Pride of Pendle 4.1%, an always enjoyable, easy drinking amber bitter with some fruit and malt and a hint of caramel.
