That's Horne's problem.
We need to win.

I was please with the effort shown yesterday.
A good contest but again we looked very light in the forwards compared to Batley.
Our forwards ran hard but couldn't seem to break a dominant defence.
Batley's wrestle and control of the ruck was far better than ours ,and this looks like an area where we need improvement.
I lost count of how many times Alex Rowe, in collision landed on his front for a quick PTB.

Cant see what Muranka brings to the squad , poor last season and no better this term. Lets hope Brad England is going to get some game time. I can only think he is carrying an injury with him not playing in either match as his aggression is missed .

Cross looked good and illusive with the delayed pass for Osbourne a delight to see.
AJB gave himself a chance of a starting spot with a strong display of broken play running and strong carries from his own line along with Jason Tali.

Boyle and Harris are yet to set the world on fire and have looked average in both games........., lets hope they improve as we start the season.

Miloudi looked a handful when he came on for Miller and Downs gave a good performance in the back row.

Its hard to get a feel for the game when players are on and off doing multiple stints , but we look way off promotion material and still need to strengthen in the pack.

My worry about Miloudi is, I'm cautious about throwing him in the halves and building the side around a player that isn't ours and could quite easily go to another club at any time (I say this cause even though he can be outstanding at our level I don't believe he is good enough for Hull).

I agree , I cant see him making the Hull team unless they have a bad run of injuries.
He will be a handful in Champ one but his temperament will be put to the test on the big stage and with his temper I think he will be targeted hoping for a reaction.

indeed, that's another point. it's a risk relying on a player that could easily spend 7 games a season suspended

I know when Paul Cooke was here ,we had a good supply of quality players from FC , Micheals ,Crookes, Miller, Hadley and Green , proven first team players.
I just hope we don't see a glut of unproven under 23's at the expense of our players just to give them game time.

My fear with Miloudi, other than temperament, is that we could put him in the shop window only to see him get picked up on loan by a Championship club. On the basis that he's currently still well short of Super League standard, it might suit Hull for him to get game time at Championship level.

All that said, I'd certainly take him on a season-long loan if it was possible.

We need to try to get Miloudi and two props ... big 'uns and pronto.
If Miloudi is pinched then we don't have what it takes.

I really think that this lack of forward power coupled with Horne's blatant denial of it means his hands are tied or he is stupid.
I'm tipping the former .... or both.

Any good players at this level are likely to be nicked from us. If Richard Owen starts to play well I'm sure he'll attract the interest of bigger clubs. The key with Hakim Miloudi is probably whether Richard Horne can convince Radders that he needs to be with us to develop him as a person as opposed to being in the heat of battle in the Championship where his temperament could be put to a sterner test.

I work on the basis that it's better to have them and lose them than never have them at all. As a coach I'd always be looking to put out the best 17 players I could. If they're not here next week, then I'd deal with that at the time.
