Are we are out with the washing?

York hammer Keighley at Keighley and the bloke who was much maligned at the Keepmoat last year is turning Hunslet around - good win against Oldham.

As I stated we would be on the Workington match thread last week.

We still have to go to York and Hunslet in the next few weeks too.

Nothing to come out of both those away games. We have fell off the pace in a quite spectacular way.

Well guys where do we go from here,? Ive gone from being one of the most possitive supporters to one of the most dissapointed in the space of a few weeks. As a fan I cant see what more I can do for this club, I bought a season ticket, I pay to park, I buy halftime draw tickets and a program. How can I as a loyal fan make the two guys at the top understand how bitterly dissapointed I am ?. We are at half way point in the season 9th in the league with only league 5 class teams below us (no disrespect to those teams) As for the future and the rest of the season we will either sack the coach (again) or he will leave, the few good/standout players will be off like a shot (cant blame them,) So the start of 2019 will be a new coach hardly any players and big promises. FOR HOW MUCH LONGER CAN WE AS FANS PUT UP WITH THIS BO??OX.

It's the big promises which are the problem. Time for transparency and realism.

Well we did tell all the happy clappers that they were in cloud cuckoo land but we were derided as idiots
We could be the richest club in rugby league history don’t forget
If only our owners wanted to invest into the 5 year plan

We are lying in the gutter but looking at the stars

League Table 24th June:
All teams have played 14 games, 12 games left to go.
Bradford 26
---------------------------
York 24
Oldham 20
Hunslet 20
Workington 18
---------------------------
Keighley 16
Newcastle 16
Haven 16
Dons 16

Our defeat at Bradford was probably nothing more than we all expected. Did we learn anything we didn’t already know?

Bradford have won all their home games so far. Here are their results:
Dons 56-14
N Wales 50-12
London 54-16
W Wales 124-0
Coventry 52-6
Oldham 30-12
Hunslet 32-12

This does suggest our performances are more on a par with 10th placed N Wales than 3rd and 4th placed Oldham and Hunslet.
We’re still two points off the play-off places. The good news is that we don’t have to play Bradford again. The rest of the sides in the league do.

Next weekend’s fixtures:
Hemel v Dons
N Wales v Hunslet
Oldham v Workington
Whitehaven v Keighley
W Wales v London
Coventry v Bradford
York v Newcastle

Two sides in the play place race will definitely drop points: Whitehaven, Keighley, Oldham and Workington can’t all win.

All-in-all, nothing much has changed from what I wrote last week but it’s clear that we’ve got to improve if we want to stay in the race. We can’t afford to slip up next week. If we get anything out of the York game, we’ll be doing very well. The key games are the away game at Hunslet on 22nd July and the home game against Oldham on 29th July.

Until then, I don’t think we’ll learn all that much. By the end of July we’ll know considerably more. We’ve got a big month coming up.

I know we’re not in the position we’d like to be in but now isn’t the time to give up on this season. We need everyone to show they’ve got some bottle and fight. The coaching staff have got to do something to lift the players (and fans) and make us as competitive as we possibly can be over the remaining games.

Assuming York will finish second, it's then three teams from seven for the other play-offs places.

Another bad day at the office, watched it on the BullsTV stream, we weren't at the races and hardly looked a threat, fell away badly in the 2nd half.

We need to draft in some players and I dont mean DR we need to make some signings, we note replaced Harris (where is the money for his transfer...was there any?)

We let Zac go so he could get more time (I think he should have been our first choice 8).

We've lost Cross and Wilkinson long term (likely season ending)

All we've recruited is a prop on a months loan (that's now over June).

Time for our CEO and coach to stop faffing about and strengthen whats clearly a weakened side, we lack quality in the halfbacks without Howden.

We should comfortably beat Hemel next week, but everything isn't rosey and they victory will be a hollow on as we are not competitive against the top 8 in the division.

York seem to have recruited excellently, Hunslet have kicked on with an apparent "poor coach" we have not AGAIN...3-4th season in a row.. I've said it before Cooke failed when we didn't back him, Thornton failed when he wasn't backed, now Horne is following suit...

As Wanderer says, it's about managing expectations don't tell us were going all out for promotion when the team we field clearly isn't of a high enough standard and has an over-reliance on DR (see cheap players (FREE) from Hull). Compound that with the sale of a promising halfback, the release of a strong prop and an otherwise injury prone stand off...its not a recipe for success.

As a further point after some of my posts regarding the sale of Liam Harris, Carl Harl reached out to me and emailed me and assured me that any deal would be in the best interest of the Dons, I took him at his word on this and hoped we'd get something (players or decent sum of cash) in return for the remainder of the season....but I have seen no evidence at all about how that deal has benefitted the club, without without Harris going to Hull I think they'd have farmed the prop out to us anyhow. The only benefit I can see is that Club Doncaster has one less wage to pay.....

And I managed not to make it personal or criticise a individual player.....If we get an ITD this week I would like to directly ask Mr Hall, what was the deal for Liam Harris and what tangible benefit have the supporters of DRLFC seen?..I suspect it won't get asked or answered.
