League

We are 1 week away from the midway point of the season with next weeks round taking us to that point.

In Super League Bradford play Keighley in the biggest match so far this season, the Bulls will be 4 points clear and with have beaten every team they have come up against if they win while Keighley can bring it all level at the top if they win.

League 1 is very exciting at the moment with the top 4 teams seperated by by only 2 points. It could go either way.

Cup
The 1/4 final draw for the Challenge cup was made this week and will be played in 2 weeks time. It did guaruntee a League 1 team in the Semi final as Cas play Barrow.

The Draw

Hull Fc V Keighley Cougars
Bradford Bulls V Swinton Lons
Castleford Tigers V Barrow Raiders
Warrington Wolves V Harlequins RL

Coach of the Month awards for September went to:

Super League

Fergo of Bradford

He has lead his team well and come through the month as the only team in Super League with a 100% record which says it all realy

League 1

Macca of Castleford Tigers

May come as a shock decison to some but the rookie coach in his first head coach appointment is still undeafeated and has risen the Tigers up the league and into a very good position.

The Tigers are the only league 1 team to win all 5 of their games this month!

Barrows wireboy deserves a mention as to what he has done there and comes a close second.

Vacancies

The has been a head coach vacancy arrise this week at Warrington. Wolfboy decided to leave the club after some poor results he has now taken up an assistants job at Castleford. So the job is now available to apply for

New to RLM

We are going to intoduce a new academy league next week (all being well)

This comes about after comments from certain assistants saying they don't have enough things to do on the game. This concept should put an end to that. It might also tempt loner head coaches to hire an assistant!

You have a few options on how your academy team is set up:

The player options are

A: Free academy team of 19 average players *

B: Pay £100,000 SL or £70,000 Laegue 1 for a better academy team of 21 players * #

C: Pay £150,000 SL or £115,000 League 1 for a top class academy team and a squad of 23 players. * #

* = Slightley better ratings for SL teams
# = Only if you can afford it from your other funds

Use the above link to apply for your place

http://chairman001.proboards103.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=hts&thread=1192449547

Games will take place on a Wednesday and they will be 1 league only for the academy. The academy is mainly to be run by assistants but head coaches can run it also if they feel they are good enough, A seperate media page will be made saying academy media (media can be used in both 1st team media and academy media but it may not count, EG placing your academy 18 man squad in your 1st team media will not count as a piece of first team media.

Academy games will be worked by Questions, Form, Media & Players only (see below link for full details on how the academy will be done)

Wednesday 22nd October is the projected start date

A lot at Stake

With only 2 more regular rounds left there is a hell of a lot at stake for various clubs, it’s just about who wins and loses the titles but there are massive amounts of money at stake for all teams at all levels potentially the winner of Super League could come away with £600,000 if they win the League leaders shield as well while the team who reaches the final and is runners up and even if they come second they could only come away with a maximum of £380,000 prize money, these are massive gaps and could prove vital for next season, but those gaps are only minor compared to what some teams are playing for it has been said that their will be a gulf of £1.5 Million pounds at stake per League so the difference between playing League 2 & Super League for some teams could be in excess of £3 million. There are some team who don’t know which league they are playing in next season and they will be affected the most and the biggest example is Barrow & Warrington, 1 of these teams will be promoted to Super League next season 1 will play League 1 both are expected to reach League 1 play off final, ok the winner of that match is awarded £80,000 (taken from the new prize money figures) but the reality of the situation is that that match if it does take place would be worth about 19 times that figure a whooping £1.5 million which would be the difference between playing Super League & League 1. It is the same scenario for the battle in the League 1 mid table where Widnes, London, Hull KR & Wakefield are battling over 2 league places for next season , the 2 that don’t get them places again will be about £1.5 million less off than the 2 teams that do get the league 1 places. It will then have a knock on effect on what the teams reserve sides will have to spend as less money means lesser quality players and that is for the 1st team too. The 2 teams that might struggle the most is the 2 new teams who are having to start from scratch next season in League 2 Castleford & Wigan will have their work cut out but the good thing for them is that they know that and they don’t have to make big decisions on releasing players etc, they will be able to start knowing exactly what they have and they will be able to build on that.

Either way you look at it each and every team will be effected by this but obviously some more than others.

Don't miss the last 2 rounds and see who gains big and who loses big.

On another note there are some vacancies at the moment, Assistant jobs @ Huddersfield, Hull KR & Saldford

The New Season is just arround the corner and there is plenty to look forward to.

The new Handicap Cup looks to be a good addition also

There is a rare Head Coaches job on the game at the moment at the Bradford Bulls.

Be quick tho the job will have high demand
