Where and how you see us in the top 8 I do not know, complete lack of size and shortage of players through out, business should of been done early and picked up the players that where on the move, now we've just signed 34 year old mummified tickle and have been waxed by wakey, I like Sheens but can't figure out what the plan is. I admire your positivity though. RRTR

How was we able to get players early when we did not know what division we were going to be in when we did all the good players were gone

That's not true though is it, plenty of decent players have moved clubs since the 9th of September. Here's a few you could have had off the top of my head:

Bryson Goodwin
Michael McIlorum
Ben Murdoch-Masila
Krisnan Inu
David Mead
Justin Horo
Tyrone Roberts
Dan Sarginson
Jack Littlejohn
Pauli Pauli
Sam Langi
Joe Westerman
Ashton Sims
Wellington Albert
Stanton Albert

What you actually signed since 9th Sept:

Lee, Walne, Franck, Tickle, Vaivai, Dagger & Williams.

And Jewitt. As one of the HDM journos pointed out, if those had all been announced in the off season, the recruitment would have looked much healthier.

Aye, we should of signed all of these. With our unlimited quota spaces and cash like man city. Realistically speaking, Albert brothers, sims, westerman, sarginson you wouldn't want to sign. Littlejohn and pauli pauli are risks - which we have enough of and westerman, goodwin were signed up well before our confirmation date ( granted, leigh had first dibs on goodwin)

The process of signing anybody for the sake of it to ease fan apprehension is not the soundest of models.

Re: Where are we headed? : Sat Feb 24, 2018 7:54 am
Regards this topic, I’m surprised that the only matter raised at the fans forum this week deemed worthy of discussion on the message boards is the location of the club shop

A few points relevant to the topic.
Senior attendance was poor from the club. Chairman, Vice chairman, head coach, captain - none in attendance. Whatever Mike Smiths commercial acumen his views came across as stuck in the dark ages ie Catalans and London bring nothing to SL.
Passholder numbers are down but might end up equal to last year? Who’s going to be buying a pass now? And how can numbers be down when we’ve been promoted.
Some good points from JP around COHA although the draft system doesn’t fill me with optimism.
We are clearly still massively reliant on NH and RC’s personal cash. What concerns me is if passholders are down and the main sponsor is in financial trouble (and we are closing down the city centre shop) the burden on them is increasing not decreasing. And asI said at the start NH does seem very weary and downbeat - understandably. He must have watched that last night and asked himself questions.
The plan as every year apart from the last one seems to be survive, then next year push the top8, then be genuine challengers but barring the first of these I don’t hear solid plans, we’re just like everyone else like Huddersfield, Salford, Widnes etc who will be saying the same messages but no real tangible plans to be contenders at Old Trafford.
