Let me play devils advocate on this one.

Why when we are far from certain to be in the Super League would we be that confident of landing a marquee signing?

Does Bernard have an assurance about a new structure for the competition that he isn't at liberty to share?

Or does he have more faith in McNamara than the rest of the world put together?

I would say an assurance that Super League structure is not gong to be the same next year

I know we have kind of covered this question in the McNamara thread but the only reason I can think of that he hasn't already long since been sacked is that the club and Bernard in particular know something about the structure of the 2019 Super league that isn't apparent to the rest of us.

If he knew the club were not at risk of relegation then he might be keeping the coach to try and give him another winter to sort the mess out, and make sure Tomkins joins.

Conspiracy abounds...

One thing is for sure, I want us to be staying up on our own merits as opposed to benefiting from some change in the competition rules.

Jimmy, I reckon something is afoot, am a broncos fan, with a keen interest in Catalans. At broncos there is little news on contracts for next year. One of the thoughts is our current backer may be waiting for future structure decision before committing his wallet for further funding.
With the way dragons are playing and with Mac bananas track record their must be some reason why Bernard is being as patient as he is with him.

Confirmation that STomkins is leaving Wigan at the end of the season. I don't think anyone is expecting anything other than him coming to Perpi. I still see it as one of Bernard's vanity signings, but hey-ho
